*Warning triggering imagery*

No one ever speaks of it
They'd rather keep it hidden in the ocean where all corruption lies
Locked up in a cell like those who committed the crime
No warning sign is kept for the younglings who go out to discover this world
So they come back traumatized
The insane they call them.

Darkness became my best friend
My only companion in a world where the light is tainted
And where truth is covered up by the morally bankrupt
We're told to fear the bad; never to be weary of the good
Instead, we're made to suffer.
Instead, we're made invisible.

And to think that if I'd have said NO
None of this would have happened
If I'd tell someone earlier
If I'd tell them to stop hurting me
But I didn't know this game they played
I thought it was normal and that the sun shined everywhere
Therefore there was no need to fear
But my instincts were right and I neglected the truth.

There's only one way out from this
Escaping their wicked game
No point trying for justice
No point trying to live on
Because I'm struggling to keep my head up
I deserve better than this - as do all in the world
but my innocence has been taken from me
so I choose to stop struggling, and find my inner peace.
