Why would love make you wait so long
Don't they know making you feel this way is wrong

And yet, I know a woman to be kindhearted, intelligent and strong
I know her to also hurt,
But I'm not let in, is she scared I'm just a flirt?

All I desire is a heart beat next to mine
Beating in any rhythm, even out of time
For our worlds to intertwine
For a mere moment would be sublime

My heart bleeds cliches
You put me in a daze
And drag me through this dreary
Longing haze
I'm just cattle with nothing to graze
A stoner with nothing to blaze
Then again, it's probably a phase

Yet I stick to this notion
Else my heart ceases motion
Better to be thrown to the ocean
Than left ashore
Wanting more
And feeling soar

Try as I might, I don't know if I make her laugh or stir
Am I invisible to her?
I'm just not sure
But I'll try forevermore
Maybe one day I'll be her cure

Through humor I failed to bear my soul
But I gave the truth and now I have a friend
Which is the ultimate goal
I still like her, she knows, no need to pretend
