Reading in the Dark
I would rather write more fantasy
That would fill me with glee
But while I glare at this page
I set my darkness free
That will have to be enough of a wage
With a bonus to quell some rage
And craft lyrics like a spell
Mastered by a mage
Closer and closer to being a word sage
Perhaps that will make someone well
Maybe even me, who can tell
Aside from the siren who sings to feed
Ring the dinner bell
And know that we feast
With analogies and mead
Like word hungry savages
Like thirsty vampires in a grammatical hell
Like tearing open the leather bound beast
Like lighting candles just to read
In the dark, so that we focus our mental ravages
