Prince of Pain
A Monologue by RyanRingo:
I will not stand by
I will not stand by
I will not stand by
I will not stand by
Leaders don't walk away
I got this
But what is it worth?
Being a leader I mean...
It seems built for me, but I not for it.
I stand idly by
Leading no one but myself
Why do I do this to myself?
Leadership is indeed a pain we choose.
Those born leaders choose to act upon it.
So why I?
I burden myself with the weight of the team... For what?
Respect? Attention?
Love?
Love is a pain we choose
Why are we so willing to jump into something that requires work, understanding, and a keen sense of holding the shovel?
Why do we choose to dig ourselves out of circumstance for love?
If Humanity is initially selfish, then why love? Why not Use?
It explains those who act on physical impulse.
But what of the spirit? He who drives me drives us drives whom?
Why do we choose pain? What is it worth?
In the end we all die anyways.
Well... Maybe...
Maybe we are subconsciously good.
Maybe we work to better the future while knowing we will not affect the present?
Who is the man whom builds a monument for ages to come, and without a cent in return?
Who is the woman whom creates a job and feeds the poor after work?
Love? Passion? Binding factors.
No...
Humanity
Leaders
Lovers
One in the same
By leading I love
By loving I lead
But by both, do I gain humanity
My humanity
Maybe now Ill gain my humanity.
