An Ephemeral Romance
With sunset in the eyes,
Over a coffee they met,
Coalesced; two souls' sighs,
Yet afraid were they, to set a date.
They met in the crepuscular night,
Her eyes shone a sparkling bright,
Hers were a crystalline sight,
Fingers interwined, held on tight.
Encompassed by the silent stares,
Pulled the cashmere closer, suddenly feeling bare.
She tucked her iridescent mane with care,
In return, received a dulcet kiss on the forehead.
Condemnatory glances and symphony of susurration followed,
Sonorous yet hushed, trailed along trammelling them.
The beginning of the innocent love lost its luminescence,
Buried were the last vestiges of its existence under the deterrence.
The warmth of the endearments,
The deep yearning for togetherness,
Was seen as a heinous crime so repugnant; superior to adultery.
Only because in love she was, with a girl.

A/N: Too much of boy & girl romance, eh? It was time for my girls! The first two lines were given as a prompt.
