my life is a series of what ifs, constantly swimming around in a pool of desire
things that could've been, should've been, and hurt me each day because they never can be true
and it's always hard to move on, to know that what i once wished for isn't something i can acquire
because love isn't something you own or buy, especially not when it comes to you
so maybe the what ifs are better left of as that; simple questions that i'll never know the answer to
maybe if they were meant to be i'd be right here, standing next to you
