High School
As I walk up to the building
The glass doors welcome me
The smiles that I now see
Seem to be a shadow of the ones before
Walking through the halls
The light doing little to keep the shadow at bay
The weight of the world on my back,
Seemingly fitting into one bag
Meeting people who might be friends now
But will become faceless in 10 to 20 year
Judgemental stares as I walk from class to class
Masks covering everything real
Days that blend into one another
Sleep seeming often like a dream
The hollowness that slowly filled me
Begins to bleed out on the floor
Coming home late
Forgetting the world's stares on my back
Crawling into my bed
And letting sleep take me over
