We
As humans
Are all just drawers
That are filled to the top
With sharpened knives
Pointed
At one another.

Each one of us
Is completely unique
And we have all sorts
Of different knives
In our drawers.

But of all the knives
In everyone's drawer
The two that are
The most deadly
Are pride
And prejudice.

Pride is a brick wall
That stands between two people
And tears them apart
Because it refuses to let
One apologize to the other
Or say they're sorry
Because pride
Is just the longest distance
That there is
Between two people.

No one
In this world
Has yet to choke
On swallowing their pride
And yet
It's still one of the sharpest knives
In a person's drawer.

Prejudice
Is just as sharp
And just as deadly
So don't be fooled
By its innocent looks.

Prejudice
Is the child of ignorance
And it's just
A useless form of reasoning
That is only used by fools.

And these two knives
Are pointed at each person
Who come close to another
Because although they
Are deadly obstacles
They test our friendships
And our relationships
And weed out
Those who are unworthy
Of our love.
