4. When Death Plays Cupid
Behold the half filled glass on the table
Half spilled on the floor
Peircing the heart like a reminder
Of a relationship beautiful no more
Peek from this window to see
An angry car driving away
Huffing, puffing, bellowing and screeching
At every passerby in its way.
A seething glance in the rearview mirror
As her car careens on the road
And then the clink of shattering glass
As her shoulders are relieved of load.
And soft memories arrive in snatches
Her vision blackening at the edges
As the searing breaths leave her lungs
So do all the grudges.
