A lie was once told

to a weak boy who believed it.

The boy developed feelings

for the girl who told the lie. 

Time passed

and the girl became more fragile.

Yet he still believed

the lie he had been told.

The day came

when the girl passed away

and the boy had to say goodbye.

Later he received a letter

written by the girl.

It told of her lie

the lie that had deceived them.

The lie that had brought her to him.

The lie that she liked his best friend.

The lie she told in April.

Towards the end

the boy was surprised

she had loved him

all this time.
