Little Black Dress
So for a class, I had to write a bunch of poems and things in the view of a famous person. I chose Coco Chanel. I just thought i'd post this poem cause i liked it.

Black. Black is the color of my little black dress
It is also the dismal gray of death
The coffin they laid you in was just as dark
Leaving me with only a shell of your former self
I remember you, my dear captain
Your strong arms and gentle embrace
Recalling the rough stubble I never convinced you to shave
And then I try to forget your smile that shone so brightly
The radiant smile you gave to someone else
At the accident, I could not find you
What I saw was a bruised and damaged being
Smelling of fire and burning rubber
The sharp musky, almost bittersweet scent of you lingers no more
And your booming laughter has faded away
Now I sew this dress
A lasting token to you and our love
Though I know the gold ring was never mine to place
And your love was never mine to keep
Still, the invisible threads that create this dress
Connect me to the memories of you
And all that we once were
