I grew up in a world where love is torture

Love is screaming back and forth until your throats are raw and your voice is nearly gone

Love is slapping and throwing glass and pulling you down to the ground by your hair

Love is driving away while you are still hanging out of the car door

Love is smashing a mirror and threatening the sweet kiss of suicide with broken glass sticking out of your wrist

Love is lying and cheating and locking you out of their lives

Love is pinning you to the ground and leaving you crawling away spitting up blood

Love is screaming so loud for help in a place where no one can find you
