What Poetry Is to me 1
What Poetry is To me
Lyric A. Kent
Poetry is a drop of dew
And the silent flap of a dove
It's a protest against what's not right
It's the strength of a horse's heart
The power of the dragons flight
The leopards persistence to hunt
The first laugh of a child
It has the strength to thaw the most frozen of hearts
It brings a power of no other like when the sun rose for the very first time
An ever burning fire that carries us through the rollercoaster of life
It can also be the caw of a crow; sad and menacing
At times poetry can be lonely like a wolf's howl
It can be smooth like velvet and silk
Or rough like cactus
Sometime the words flow off your tongue like a waterfall, fast but gentle
To me poetry is like ice cream in july oh so sweet but it can not last forever
It's breath-taking like fireworks
For me it sparks a passion to read on, to find what words the author has delicately woven into place
When you're lost at sea poetry is like a light calm a quiet always their to help
It's like a tight down jacket it holds you tight and keeps you warm and hopes you not to break free
