Why do we live in this world

that has so many stereotypes.

Blondes are beautiful,

raven-haired people are goth,

brunettes are plain.

Few care enough

to look past the skin color.

Mocha, olive, pale.

Many words

Only to separate people more.

Many are prevented

From getting a certain job

because of a disability,

skin color,

or nationality.

There is a thought

put in people's minds

that beauty involves

being stick-thin,

blonde and pale.

Fair complexion and blue eyes.

Few think beauty

is dark skin,

brown eyes and healthy.

I look around and think,

"Why do we live in this world?"
