Dream catcher
I am a wanderer,
The stars are my paths, constellations my bridges.
I roam free and alone over sleeping towns and slumbering cities.
I am a stargazer,
My lullaby is a thousand stars, whispering their ancient secrets,
Hiding behind clouds- shy to face the sun but always there, always watching.
I am a protector,
I guard the tiny villages below, sending clouds away with a sweep of my cloaked arm, holding back storms that hunger for the sleeping families below.
I am a fisherman,
I stoop to dip my long handled net into dawn clouds like candy floss, causing small wisps to drift off and join others to start a new cloud.
I am a conductor,
The wind sings a melodious harmony, greeting the sun- godlike in his morning glory- to the new day. Sighing an old, yet beautiful song until the moon comes to take her bow.
I am a shadow,
As I watch my feet sink into the sand, the wave reaches out- wiping away any evidence I was here with a single stroking caress- making me little more than a grain of sand mingling with the rest in this vast ocean.
I am a dream catcher,
I sweep my net through crunchy stars, seeking out the mysterious dreams I knew lurked there- quickly bringing the net down in a graceful arch- storing the dream away for later; for the child I knew needed it so desperately. For these dreams- like all dreams- are not just dreams... They're ideas. Realities.
The poem that started it all (my first ever poem on this iPad)
