You couldn’t possibly know, 

how terribly painful it is to be near you,

to see you smile and joke as if what we had was nothing.

I gave you my everything,

my heart and my soul.

And you left me behind,

to wonder what I did wrong.

And now you come to me, 

talking like we were before.

Before I fell

Before I cared

Before I even dared to try something that terrified me.

But it’s okay.

Because even if your smile

sends blades into my heart,

shatters my bones,
