Unsatisfied
Affection
A craving unsatisfied
A fear too great to ask for.
I crave affection.
Not in the way you look through rose tinted glasses
Or the way the world sighs and sings it's praise
Or the way everything is perfect, ripe with opportunity
In the embrace of a lover.
I crave the comfort of home
The safety of a friend
The love of a community
I crave the way the world is silent
Where tears are enveloped and cherished
Where memories spread anew
In the embrace of family.
I crave affection
In a way that is consuming in its care
But I'm afraid to ask
And am therefore, unsatisfied.
