Today was a day of nostalgia

One where I skipped down memory lane

Reading all the stories written 

Things that kept us sane 

Today I cam across a book

One of poems you've written 

All the struggles that you face 

The darkness I'd tried to erase.

I read this book of poems, angry at what I read 

To you I might as well be dead 

It's frustrating to me

To read these lines of poetry

To see the despair and pain inside

Each and every line

It's frustrating because I tried

I tried so goddamn hard

All I wanted was to make you happy

All you have me was more scars.

You pushed me away

In hopes of a happy ending

Thinking I couldn't help you 

When it's all I wanted to do.

So it's frustrating to see 

That it all meant nothing

None of my help

Or even my absence 

Could ever make you happy 

And while I'm frustrated

Angry at you, even

All I want is for you to get through this

So

Though we are no longer friends

Though we no longer talk and thrive

I want you to know you're strong and loved

And at least one person hopes you stay alive.
