I miss the old me.
Maybe it's true that I was naive,
and it's a positive thing that I've learnt the truth about this cruel place we call home.
But sometimes, I miss the old me.
The one before my world turned grey
and my heart shattered into a million pieces,
the one who could stare in the mirror
without picking out dozens of insecurities and having to look away because it's simply too horrible to look at,
the one who saw the good in this world
and in others,
the one who had confidence,
who believed in herself,
who truly loved herself.
The one who was happy.
She might have been naive,
but she was better than whatever pile of mess I am now.
I miss you, little me,
and I'm sorry
for what you're going to go through.
