Losing Time

Time is not on my side.
Time is my enemy.
It taunts me, every day,
cackles when I close my eyes,
because time is slipping out of my grasp,
and there is nothing that I can do to stop it,
there is nothing that I can do to grab it
and pull it back.
It reminds me that I am running out of time.
That, one day,
I will simply cease to exist.
