fine but long.
Relief and regret mingle together,
as marks slowly grow
no signs it's deep enough yet it's also too much at the same time,
hands tingle and thighs burn
as I know by morning,
it'll be red again.
anticipation and hesitation swirling together as I add more.
enough but never good enough
will it ever be?
will I ever stop?
only time heals and only time will tell.
until then,
I'll dance this same endless cycle of harm and heal
time and time again.
