I speak,

And no one listens.

I shout,

And everyone stares.

I cry,

But no one seems to care.

Except for you.

I cried on your birthday,

And you just hugged me.

I shout and I yell,

And you just listen.

We debate and we argue,

Then you hug me and say “See you soon”.

When people talk over me,

You tell them to shut up.

When I speak,

But no one listens,

You tell them to pay attention.

And I love you for that.

You make me feel important

And special.

Brave, even.
