I walked in feeling awkward

and I tried to be unaware

of every word

that was spoken somewhere.

The music started booming

and everyone started to dance.

I felt my tension growing

as I stood there in some kind of trance.

A boy my age asked my sister to dance

but she being her refused.

I thought he was cute

and sat waiting for a chance.

I stood up and started to move

I was happy in every way.

The music slowed down

As I stood there confused

but he came to my rescue.

Horray!

We planted our hands together

moving as one

I glimpsed at his eyes

and I looked away

I think I was in love.

I occasionally looked into his eyes

but I turned away when he saw

I wanted to get closer to him

as we danced I knew people have glanced.

This never happens to a girl like me

shy, weird, and not good at dancing

but I guess what happened was meant to be

for me and him.

He asked for my number

but I didn't ask for his.

I tried to play hard to get

but if I did I'd be on my knees.

We danced for hours

and I enjoyed every beat

the sound of music

as we moved our feet

I wanted to stay there with him FOREVER!
