Sixteen
Jungkook stalked down the hall, heading towards Taehyung’s rooms. He’d been forced to lead his parents to their guest rooms, and then the fucking ‘wizard’ to his own room. He hadn’t missed the hungry look in his eyes when his gaze landed upon his brother.
Disgust curled in his stomach when he thought of everything else that had transpired.
He had a sister? Since when? And why were his parents so adamant about her marrying his—Taehyung. It was sick, she was only a child, Taehyung was more than two decades her age.
Jungkook shook his head. No, that wasn’t what bothered him. What bothered him, was finding out what was on that damn piece of paper that made Taehyung storm out. What made him practically agree to the marriage proposal.
He knocked furiously on the king’s door, ignoring the guard standing beside it, giving him a strange look.
The doors swung open after a bit, and Jungkook pushed his way past the maid, walking into the room and moving to stand in front of Taehyung. “What the hell was that?” He demanded, crossing his arms as he glared at the man sitting in the bed, looking troubled.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to rush out like that…” Taehyung sighed, running a hand through his hair as he stood from his position and walked towards Jungkook.
“What happened, Hyung? Why did you just leave? Why didn’t you deny the betrothal? She’s a baby, you can’t—“
“I know!” Taehyung suddenly shouted, cutting off the stunned Jungkook. “I know.” He whispered once again, quieter this time. “I just...don’t know what to do.” The man sighed, clearly frustrated and clearly had a lot on his mind.
“What was on that letter?” Jungkook suddenly demanded.
Taehyung shook his head. “It’s none of your business, Jungkook. Just let it drop.”
“It is my business if it made you practically agree to a marriage to my baby sister!”
“I’m trying to come up with a solution!” Taehyung suddenly shouted back, he walked closer to Jungkook, towering over the male.
Jungkook clamped his mouth shut, his eyes hard, anger brimming behind them. Taehyung stared down the prince, and a staring contest began, tensions high in the room. “I’m trying.” Taehyung finally said, calmly and quietly. “I do not wish to marry your sister, it’s wrong, she is a child, and she cannot consent to any of this. But there are issues that I must solve, first.”
“What kind of issues?”
“Again, it is none of your concern.”
“It is. Let me help you, Hyung.”
“You can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because it doesn’t concern you.”
“Bullshit! You’re just being a proud bastard!” Jungkook shouted, suddenly losing the calm they had managed to briefly establish. Taehyung closed his eyes and inhaled a shaky breath.
“Get out.” He finally whispered.
“What?”
“Get. Out.” Taehyung snapped. “It’s obvious you aren’t going to be calm about this, and I won’t allow you to meddle in affairs that do not concern you. Go calm down and come back once you’ve cleared your head.”
Jungkook scoffed, turning on his feet and stalking out of the room without another word.

“Jimin-ah?” Yoongi knocked on the door quietly, poking his head into the room. He sighed when he saw the prince, curled into a ball and staring at the walls in his room.
The older man entered the room slowly, closing the door behind him and making his way towards the prince. “Jimin-ah.” He said quietly once more. He approached the prince, reaching out to gently stroke his back, but stopped all movement when he saw the young prince flinch away from the approaching hand.
Yoongi sighed and instead, sat on the bed, a small distance away from the prince. “Jimin-ah, are you Alright?” He asked gently, studying the behavior of the prince.
Jimin shook his head. “I’m not ready.”
“You’re not ready?”
“I’m not ready to see them again. I wasn’t and I don’t think I ever will be. A-and h-him…” He said, his voice cracking. Yoongi saw the tears brimming in his eyes, and he was quick to pull the young prince into his arms, rocking gently, rubbing his back.
“It’s okay, Jiminie. I’m sorry that you have to go through this…” he whispered quietly. Anger filled inside of him for his friend. “I’ll protect you, Jimin-ah. Hoseok and I will always be with you, Okay? Your parents, nor that stupid old man won’t get anywhere near you. Taehyung and Jungkook won’t let them, either. We’ll protect you, Okay?”
Jimin let out a shaky breath, nodding his head slowly. He fell further into Yoongi’s embrace, just needing to be held and reassured.
Hoping that their words were true and that none of the people who’d ruined his life would ever get near him again.
