Dean's POV
The doctor had told Dean of Sam's condition, but it still hurt when Sam didn't recognise him. It must've shown, because pity seemed to cross Sam's face.

When the doctor left, Dean looked over his brother, who was staring at him with a confused expression. "So," Dean broke the silence, "you don't remember anything? At all?"

Sam shook his head. "Nothing. Sorry." He looked sincere about it.

Dean made a quick little prayer in his head. Castiel, if you're listening, I need your help.

Almost immediately, there was a swoosh and Cas was standing in the corner of the room. Sam let out a yelp of surprise, and his eyes widened in fear as he spotted the angel.

"Dean, what's wrong?" Castiel asked, moving to stand next to Dean.

Dean gestured to Sam. "Amnesia. Can you help?"

"I'll see what I can do." Castiel moved to Sam, who was more or less cowering in fear. He placed two fingers against Sam's forehead. Sam stared in confusion as he pulled his hand away. "Something is blocking me. I can't reach his memories. How did this happen?"

"I don't know," Dean replied, thinking back. "We were on a hunt, and we split up. I heard a scream and came running. Someone was there, but they jumped out the window before I got there. Sam was unconscious when I came into the room."

Castiel didn't say anything for a moment. He was looking fixedly at Sam, who hadn't said a word. The angel put his fingers on Sam again and healed his wounds. Sam looked at himself, bewildered. "H-how?"

"Samuel Winchester," Castiel said. "My name is Castiel. And I'm an angel of the Lord."

Okay, I know. It's short. But in my defense, I've been sidetracked. School is starting in a few days, and I've been busy getting ready! Plus, no one has started reading this yet, so I'm not exactly writing for an audience. And I couldn't think of anything else to write. So sorry, I know 283 words or somewhere around there isn't a lot, but I'm also thinking of putting some original work on here that I've been writing for a little while. So yeah, shortest chapter so far, but the possibility of an original, and in my opinion better, story! If anyone is reading this, stay tuned and thanks for reading this chapter!
