~ BTYB Raven dragging (Y/N) ~

There was silence. Everything was dark. Nothing and no one made a move.

Yet all Coco had done was wait.

Coco: When will this nightmare end?

Looking around herself, she still had seen no movement or any sign of it.

Moments of silence ensued. Only broken by the sound of metal being pierced.

Whirling her head toward the source of the sound, Coco could only see a silhouette of a man with dimly lit red eyes. Trying to move, Coco found that she couldn't. She could only watch as the man's body came into view, allowing her to barely see the dull color of his coat.

Now that she had gotten a close look, she instantly recognized the man of her nightmares. And when she wanted to kick and scream, she felt her entire body freeze up, numb from pure fear.

Steadily, he raised his hand up to his waist and let his hand rest on the handle of his blade.

(Y/N): How shall I do this?

There was no response.

(Y/N): Shall I make this quick?

Only silence greeted his words.

(Y/N): Or shall I take it slow?

Drawing his sword out from its sheath, (Y/N) gradually revealed the pristine blade in all of its glory. By the time the sword was fully released, the hilt was pressing against Coco's throat.

And in the span of a second, the only thing Coco could feel was the pain flooding through her head.

Coco: AH!!!

Jolting up from her seat, Coco would've hit the roof of the Bullhead if not for Yatsuhashi grabbing onto her.

Yatsuhashi: Coco, are you alright?

Gripping onto the edge of her seat, the brunette girl just stared at the ground to avoid the eyes of her teammates. Once she had relaxed, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a thin blade.

The four students in the room eyed the knife to the best of their ability, but all they could deduce was that it belonged to (Y/N).

Coco: Fox, hold onto this.

Gently taking the blade, Fox studied the emblem etched into both sides before putting the little weapon in his pocket.

Fox: How'd you get that thing?

Coco: He... He just put it in my hand.

Yatsuhashi: Then we should be on the lookout and give it to Professor Ozpin for safekeeping.

Coco: We'll give it to him when we give him our report. Sound good?

Fox: Yep. Now, I'ma take a nap.

Resting his head against the cold interior of the Bullhead, Fox was about to fall asleep while his teammates waited alongside him. But then, the Bullhead landed and its engines stopped humming.

Fox: Oh, come on!

Getting up, each member of the team grabbed their belongings before waiting for the Bullhead to open. When it did, dozens of students could be seen across the landing platform. Most of them were unrecognizable to the team except for two.

Before the team could venture further, the clicking of heels started to drown out the numerous voices and draw the students' attention toward Glynda Goodwitch. Stopping front of the team, the woman gazed over them, analyzing their every move.

Glynda: Team CVFY, come with me.

Following her orders, the group of four trailed behind the blonde woman. Eventually being brought to the base of the clocktower before beginning the long ascent to the top.

At the top, the elevator doors creaked open to reveal Ozpin's office. But when all of the elevator's occupants stepped into the room, weapons were aimed at a new face.

Fox: (Y/N), why are you here, bastard!?

Looking toward the accused individual almost made Ozpin and Glynda chuckle.

Standing there with weapons aimed at him was Qrow Branwen, who casually kept sipping from his flask.

Qrow: What the hell are you talking about?

Ozpin: Team CVFY, this is Qrow Branwen.

Keeping their weapons ready, none of the teenagers were willing to put their guard down.

Glynda: Put your weapons down. Qrow is on our side.

Finally, the teenagers lowered their guard and gave their apologies to the drunken Hunter. Then, they all straightened up and gave their mission report to Ozpin.

Ozpin: No worries. That information wasn't needed urgently.

Yatsuhashi: Then why did you need us to deliver it?

Ozpin: Actually I need the information sent before the second semester begins. But next time, I will have Qrow deliver it.

Looking toward the red-eyed man, the four students were still on the edge of their seats. Each of them wary of the weapon on his back and the flask in his hand.

Velvet: May I ask who is this Qrow person?

Whipping their heads around, the rest of the team stared at Velvet wide-eyed, though she paid no attention to them.

Glynda: He's a licensed Hunter and has worked for Professor Ozpin since he's graduated Beacon. Anything else before you return to your dorms?

Fox: Yeah, we found this left behind.

Reaching into his pocket, Fox pulled out the thin blade that Coco had handed to him earlier. Holding it out for everyone to see, Glynda confiscated it immediately.

Glynda: How did you get this?

Coco: He gave it to me when he took the case.

Glynda: I will keep it for now then. But enjoy the rest of your day because you return to classes tomorrow.

Team CVFY: Yes, Professor Goodwitch.

Leaving for their dorm room, each member of the team remained silent. None of them uttered a word for the rest of the day, keeping to themselves until nightfall.

Retreating into their beds, each member of the team slowly succumbed to their drowsiness.

But when Coco awoke, she was in the poorly lit space where not a single thing made a sound. Trying to move, she searched for her weapon but to no avail. She couldn't find anything of use before the footsteps picked up again.

Coco: Why? Why again?

The footsteps grew louder. Each one created a small echo, making it difficult for Coco to guess when her nightmare would end.

Focusing on the direction of the source, Coco watched as the silhouette cleared up, showing very few details of (Y/N)'s figure.

(Y/N): How shall I do this?

Coco didn't utter a single word.

(Y/N): Shall I make this quick?

She only watched him draw his blade from his sheath.

(Y/N): Or shall I take this slow?

The shining blade was revealed once again before it was covered with Coco's blood.

Jolting up from her bed, Coco was sweating profusely and didn't even make an attempt to wipe any of it off. Looking around the room, she saw her teammates clutching their blankets. But one thing caught her attention the most.

Coco: What are you doing here?

Standing against the door was (Y/N). He had all his equipment yet seemed in no hurry to even draw a knife from his coat.

(Y/N): I came to deliver a warning.

Coco: Only if I get to ask some questions.

(Y/N): Fine. Three Questions after I get to speak.

When she had nodded, (Y/N) walked around the room, finding himself next to the desk before he spoke.

(Y/N): Prepare for war and hide as many trump cards as you can.

Coco: When is this 'war'?

(Y/N): I don't know.

Coco: Then how do you know it's going to happen?

(Y/N): Ozpin has all the pieces he wants this year and his opponent is almost ready to launch their attack.

Letting the information sink in, Coco sat in her bed and kept clutching onto her blanket.

(Y/N): What's your last question? You just used up the other two.

Realizing what he had said, she turned her gaze away and stayed silent. When she looked back up at him, her gaze turned toward his eyes.

Coco: Why are you giving me this warning?

(Y/N): Because I can't trust Ozpin. He knows more about this world than the greatest scientists and he's willing to throw clueless teenagers into battle.

Waiting for a moment, (Y/N) watched Coco's gaze shift around the room. First, she looked at him, unable to decern anything from his eyes. Then, she looked at her school uniform, almost wanting to throw it out of sight. Finally, she looked back at (Y/N), awaiting his next move.

(Y/N): I have to go. But first,

Moving around the room, (Y/N) stood at the side of Coco's bed. Reaching into his coat, he pulled out a chain and at the end of it was the sundial-wing emblem.

(Y/N): Keep this and focus your aura in it when you or anyone you care about are in danger.

When he had given her the necklace, Coco studied it as the piece of carefully carved metal that rested in the palm of her hand.

Coco: Why?

(Y/N): I need you to trust me. This is the best way.

Turning away from her, his body gradually began to shine with his aura. Once his entire body had shone, he disappeared from sight.

A/N: Not sure who enjoyed this chapter, but it does set up quite a bit. And before you go, I have a question.

How long should I make this series?
Already, I can easily make it around 30 chapters without any more filler, but including filler and cliffhangers could extend the series to 40 chapters, maybe even 50.
