Ch. 7 Thanks for taking me out and dropping me off
Talulla walks with Wendy and the others to Hoo-Ha Owl's Pizzamatronic Jamboree. She enters the pizzeria and looks at her surroundings. She noticed children were running around having fun and bugging the mascot, teens were hanging out near the arcade, and adults, mainly the parents, were sitting and eating food.
' Mabel would love this place,' Talulla internally speaks.
" Hey! There's the birthday girl," Wendy speaks, grabbing Talulla's attention. She turns and sees a soon-to-be fifteen-year-old female with short purple hair with a pink highlight in front of her left ear and dark brown eyes looking bored and occasionally staring at her cell phone.
" Tambry!" Wendy calls out, causing the birthday girl to lift her head and smile when she sees all her friends arriving at her birthday party." You guys made it," She stands up and approaches them.
" Of course! We wouldn't miss it," Nate smiled.
" We were waiting for the Princess and her butler-" Lee points to Heaven and William.
Tambry nodded. Her dark brown eyes blinked when she spotted Talulla with Wendy. She looks at the redhead with a raised eyebrow since it's her first time seeing and meeting Talulla.
" Tambry. Meet my new friend, Talulla Pines. She's Stanford's niece. She's new to Gravity Falls, so I am showing her around. Hope you are cool with me bringing her to your birthday party," Wendy says while introducing Talulla to Tambry.
" I'm cool with it," Tambry responded, smiling at Talulla. " Nice to meet you, Talulla. My name is Samantha Lopez. But, friends call me Tambry," She introduced herself.
" Nice to meet you, Tambry. And Happy Birthday," Talulla holds a purple birthday bag to Tambry.
" Thanks," Tambry grabs the birthday bag. " You guys can put the birthday gifts over there," She points to a table filled with gifts. " And there is the buffet," She motioned to the table. " Eat to your heart's content," She smiled.
Talulla watched Tambry walk the others to the table filled with gifts. Her chocolate brown eyes blinked when she felt herself getting stared at. She slowly turned to the left and saw William with his hands behind his back.
" How long are you staying at Gravity Falls?" William asked, wanting to know more about the new girl.
" Till the summer," Talulla awkwardly smiled. " I originally came here to get some work experience to look good on my resume. And my Dad suggested coming here since his Uncle, Stanford Pines, owns the Mystery Shack," She explained.
" I see," William nodded.
" How long have you been working with Heaven's family?" Talulla asked, looking curious.
" For a year now," William smoothly speaks. " Since I was seventeen. My family has known her family for quite some time," He looks at Talulla.
" So, you're eighteen?" Talulla asked while looking at William.
William nodded. " And you must be the same age as Heaven and Wendy?" He asked.
" Yeah. I recently turned fifteen on April 24," Talulla responded.
" I cannot wait to eat! I am starving," Wendy says, grabbing Talulla and William's attention. They turned to see Wendy and Heaven walking toward them.
" When was the last time you ate," Heaven teased.
" Um. Since breakfast," Wendy rubbed the back of her neck with her right hand.
" That's like hours ago. Go get yourself a plate and fill it with food," Heaven scolded.
" Yes, Mom," Wendy playfully saluted, causing Heaven to blush. " Want to go to the buffet table with me?" She asked while looking at Talulla.
" Yeah. I'm also getting hungry," Talulla nodded and smiled. " And I am curious to know what they have to offer," She turns to the buffet table.
" Let's go eat as well, William," Heaven looks at William.
William held his arm out to Heaven, causing her to touch it. She walks with him to the buffet table, looking graceful.
" They are such a power couple," Wendy snickered, causing Talulla to raise an eyebrow. " Nate and I bet who will be the first to confess their forbidden love for each other," She explained.
Talulla tilted her head, looking confused.
" You see, William works for the Northwest Family. And Heaven is, you know, the Northwest Heiress. So, of course, they are from different social classes," Wendy looks at Talulla.
" Their romance already reminds me of Romeo and Juliet," Nate dramatically sighed while leaning against Lee.
Lee amusingly stared at Nate.
" I'm getting hungry," Talulla's stomach growls. " I need to eat. Let's go, Wendy," She drags her new friend to the buffet table.
A couple of minutes later, Talulla walked away from the buffet table with two plates filled with food. Wendy was holding two plates filled with food. And William was sweet enough to carry their drinks for them.
The trio sat at a booth table with Heaven. Talulla and Wendy sat beside each other while William sat beside Heaven.
" Thanks for taking me here, Wendy," Talulla grabs a slice of pepperoni pizza and takes a bite.
" No need to thank me," Wendy grabs a slice of meat lovers' pizza and takes a bite.
" I have something to give you two," Heaven says while sipping her soda. She glanced at William, who pulled two envelopes from his arm sleeve and held them to Talulla and Wendy.
" What is it?" Talulla asked while taking the envelope.
" My adorable baby sister is turning thirteen in three weeks," Heaven excitedly speaks. " I am throwing a party for her at the Northwest Manor," She brightly smiled.
Talulla and Wendy opened the envelope and saw a fancy invitation inside.
" You two should come," Heaven beamed.
" Can I bring my younger siblings with me? They are close in age to your sister," Talulla looks at Heaven.
" Of course! Pacifica would love to meet kids her age," Heaven warmly smiled.
" Then you will see us at your sister's birthday party," Talulla reassured.
" Is there a dress code?" Wendy asked, causing Talulla to raise an eyebrow.
" Formal attire," Heaven blushes. " My parents only allowed me to throw Pacifica a birthday party if the attire was formal. It's because they plan to invite some of their friends to the party so they can socialize," She explained.
Talulla and Wendy nodded. They put the invitation away in their bags, and they continue to eat their dinner.
A couple of hours later, Talulla and Wendy were getting tired, and they remembered that they had to wake up early tomorrow for work. They grabbed their leftovers, said goodbye to everyone, and left the pizzeria with Heaven and William since they were also heading home.
" What will you two be doing tomorrow besides work?" Heaven asked while walking beside Talulla and Wendy, with William walking behind them.
Talulla and Wendy looked at each other and then at Heaven.
" I don't know. Alot of things could happen," Talulla mysteriously speaks.
William briefly turned his head back, sensing two familiar auras. He amusingly shook his head when he noticed they were gone.
" Knowing my Dad, he probably wants me to help him with stuff," Wendy shrugged.
" Oh. I was planning to host a tea party tomorrow with you two, Tambry and my sister," Heaven speaks.
Talulla's chocolate brown eyes blinked. ' Mabel loves tea parties,' She internally speaks.
" I'll see what my schedule would be like," Talulla softly smiled. " I can even bring my sister with me to the tea party," She looks at Heaven.
Heaven's honey-brown eyes sparkled, and she nodded.
The trio and William reached the limo. Talulla and Wendy said their goodbyes and headed to the parking lot to Wendy's car.
The two females get inside. Wendy turns on the car and drives away. Talulla looks out the window, feeling at peace since the sky has gotten darker, letting her know it's nighttime.
Thirty minutes later, Talulla and Wendy arrived at the Mystery Shack. Talulla gets out of the car, looks at Wendy, and smiles at her.
" Thanks for taking me out and dropping me off. I had so much fun getting to know you and your friends," Talulla speaks.
" Same here. You're cool," Wendy softly smiled. " I'll see you tomorrow at the Mystery Shack," She motioned to the Gift Shop.
" See you tomorrow! Drive safely!" Talulla steps back and waves goodbye when she watches Wendy drive away.
After watching Wendy leave, Talulla stretches, feeling glad to be home since she finally feels the jet lag hitting her.
" Time to go to sleep," Talulla yawns. She turns around and is about to walk away when a crying sound grabs her attention.
Talulla's chocolate brown eyes blinked. She looked at her surroundings, hearing the crying coming from behind her. She turns around to stare at the forest with mixed emotions.
' It sounds like a baby is crying,' Talulla internally speaks. She lightly bit her lips when she heard the crying get louder, which was coming from the forest.
" Should I?" Talulla softly asked, looking hesitant. She wasn't sure if the crying was of a baby or of an animal or a demon.
Talulla lightly grasped her shirt when she heard the crying since it sounded like it was frightened. She pulls out her cell phone from her bag and turns on the flashlight, thinking it was best to investigate the sound.
' And besides, I can always scream. Grunkle Stan could shoot whatever it is that has me,' Talulla internally speaks.
Talulla walks towards the forest, following the sound of the cries. Her chocolate brown eyes blinked when she noticed the crying was from a bush.
' Please don't be an animal. Please don't be an animal,' Talulla internally speaks while walking towards the bushes.
Talulla noticed that the cries stopped once she got closer to the bushes. She pushed the bushes to the side, and her chocolate brown eyes widened. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. She saw a beautiful baby boy with golden blonde hair lying in a wooden Moses-style basket.
" It's a baby," Talulla mouths out. She stood and looked at her surroundings, seeing no one. " Who would leave such a beautiful baby in the forest alone at night when it's cold," She murmured, looking upset.
" Ahh!" Talulla's chocolate brown eyes blinked. She turned her gaze to the baby boy, staring at her with doe-like chocolate brown eyes, similar to her eye color.
" It's okay. I am not going to hurt you," Talulla softly speaks. She grabs the wooden Moses-style basket and looks at her surroundings. She still couldn't believe someone would leave a baby boy alone in the forest.
" I'll take you to my place for the time being," Talulla looks down at the baby boy.
" You seem attentive," Talulla warmly smiled. " You seem to be a year old. But, I'm not one hundred percent sure," She murmured.
" I should stop talking and take you somewhere warm," Talulla turns around and begins walking towards the Gravity Shack with the wooden Moses-style basket in her grasp.
