*Call starts*

Hello?

Yup.

Namjoon. What are you doing now?

Nothing. I'm at my dorm. And don't call me by my name.

Then how am I supposed to address you, your highness?

Oppa

Ew, no

*laughter*

Anyways, we haven't hung out in a while.

Okay...

Can I come over?

I don't live with my parents anymore. I'm at my dorm. Are you sure you can handle these boys?

On second thought... Hold on, I'll call you back.

*Call ends*

Jennie dropped her phone on her mattress, stalking off to find her older member.

Knocking on the door, she quietly opened it, revealing Jisoo playing games on her phone, a determined look on her face.

'Jisoo?'

'Hold on,' she doesn't give Jennie a glance. 'I'm about to win.'

Jennie crossed her arms, observing Jisoo play.

'NOO,' Jisoo suddenly whined, throwing her phone down. 'I lost.'

Jennie chuckled.

'Anyways, what were you saying?'

'I wanted to ask whether you wanna go somewhere?' Jennie managed out, still giggling uncontrollably.

'Uh, yeah, sure,' Jisoo agreed. 'Where?'

'A friend's.'

'Right,' she nodded slowly, thinking. 'Rose?'

'On my way,' Jennie replied, before leaving to Rose's room. Jennie found her asleep on her bed, glasses askew because she forgot to take it off before she fell asleep.

'Rose?'

'Yeah?' Her reply was a muffled sound, altered by her pillow. Jennie tip toed in, carefully removing her glasses and putting it on her bedside table.

'Wanna go out?'

'No. Just get me something when you get back.'

'To eat?'

She sighed a small yes and went back to sleep. Jennie returned to her room, dialling on her phone once again.

*Phone call*

Namjoon?

I'm here

Where's your dorm?

You're actually coming? Are you sure?

Yeah, I'm going with Jisoo.

If you are coming, you better cover up. We can't have anyone knowing you girls are coming over to our dorm.

Always the leader, always looking out for others

...

So where's your dorm?

The taxi came to a stop a block away from Namjoon's address, both Jennie and Jisoo having come into an agreement that it would be safer that way. The two were dressed to blend in, with little make up on, Jennie's face hidden behind sunglasses; Jisoo's behind a mask. They couldn't risk anything during times like this. But of course, it was already a stupid decision on Jennie's part. She knew if her manager ever found out about this, she'd be dead meat. But Jennie hated cancelling plans and she already had a soft spot for her childhood friend — bailing on him wasn't a choice.

The pair silently walked to their destination, bending down ever so slightly every time someone came by, until a tall man they had walked past, did a double take and stepped in front of them.

'Jisoo?' The two froze in their tracks. 'Jennie?'

Jennie scrunched her face in frustration. She was caught. This is it. She's dead. It's all over for -

'Jin?'

Jennie released the breath she was holding, her shoulders loosening and a look of shock and relief and confusion and so many more emotions washed over her features that both Jin and Jisoo watched her weirdly.

'Sorry,' Jennie said sheepishly. 'I thought we got caught.'

He nodded in understanding. 'I know how that feels. There was this one time, Jungkook and I were sneaking take-out boxes from the local barbeque and then our manager saw us,' he paused for effect with visible intake of breaths from Jisoo and Jennie. 'But then, he was only mad we didn't invite him and joined the members to eat, isn't that manager goals or what?' The girls chuckled at his story, and he looked satisfied with himself. 'Anyways, what are you guys doing around here?'

'Visiting Namjoon,' Jennie said, a thoughtful look in her face, before glancing at Jisoo. 'At least I am.'

'You guys really are close friends, huh?' Jin commented, looking amazed. 'Sorry, I just got that through my head.' Jennie giggled along with Jisoo.

'I'm just tagging along.' Jisoo added, strangely enthusiastic, when Jin turned to her puzzled. 'Where are you going?'

'Just to the local convenience store,' Jin replied, shrugging and then pointing at a corner store at a distance.

Jennie smiled softly to herself, a thought floating around her mind. Jisoo would thank her for this. 'There's a store around here?' She feigned ignorance, acting as if she hadn't come to this part of town at least once a week before debut. Jisoo gave her a confused look, clearly not catching on. 'Ji, didn't Chaeng want food or something? She said we've run out of ramen at the dorm, was it? Why don't you go with Jin to get it? You're just going to bore yourself to death if you come with me anyways.'

'Yeah, I'll show you the way to the store,' Jin chimed, more than happy at what he was hearing.

'Okay, then,' Jisoo hesitantly agreed. Jennie gave her a reassuring smile, winking when Jin had his back turned to her.

Jennie was looking forward to meeting her friend, she realised, as she watched the pair in front of her converse about who-knows-what. Namjoon had been extremely busy recently and it had been a barrier in their friendship everytime they'd tried to meet up. Especially when everything he did, everyone he met, made it to the tabloids. Which brought her back to her main point. That this was risky. Meeting him, at his dorm, was risky. Jisoo and Jennie conversing with Jin in public was risky.

Then a horrible realisation striked Jennie and her smile turned into a look of horror. Namjoon's dorm meant BTS' dorm and BTS' dorm meant...

She had to ask Jin.

Schooling her face into a nonchalant expression, Jennie gently tapped him on the shoulder, interrupting his conversation with Jisoo.

'By the way, Yoongi isn't there, is he?' Jennie asked cautiously. She was definitely not ready to be civil around him yet.

Not when he'd treated her and her members like dogs the last time they met.

'No, he went out a while ago,' Jin answered, a hint of reassurance and apology laced between his words, as if he understood why she had asked. 'If you see him though, please don't provoke him. He may have a hard shell, but inside, he's a softie.'

'I..' Jennie started warily, slightly offended. 'Provoke him?'

'No, no, that's not what I meant,' Jin quickly denied. 'He doesn't mean what he says, that's all.' Jennie raised her brows, smiling doubtfully. 'He doesn't like meeting new people.' Jennie nodded, dismissing Jin's defensive words of Yoongi. There was no point in sugarcoating the boy.

He was, in the simplest of words, an asshole.

Smoothly dropping the matter, Jennie nodded Jisoo and Jin goodbye, after she had confirmed directions to his dorm. She watched them leave, staring at the safe distance between their frames, chuckling at Jisoo's fidgety fingers.

She'll be just fine.

Jennie turned and left.

The glass doors slid open once Jennie had taken a step towards it, revealing a large lobby, decorated by flower vases and dangling lights. The place had recently been fixed, Jennie noticed, because where the stairwell was, a new elevator sat beside, shinily reflecting the light that filtered through the flowy curtains around the glass windows.

Inserting the card Jin had handed her earlier, Jennie pressed the floor Namjoon had instructed. The metal box echoed loudly (ding!), Jennie's sight of the lobby slowly narrowing, as the metal doors came to a close.

Right before she completely lost sight of the outside world, however, a pale hand appeared between the shifting doors, halting its movement and pushing it back open. Jennie unconsciously took a step, backing her towards the elevator walls and pushing her sunglasses higher up her nose. If she was caught now... There was no way she could explain why she was in Namjoon's building.

The owner of the hand stepped onto the elevator, a man with pale blonde hair, dressed in black from head to toe. A black mask shielded his face from Jennie's sight but he paid her no mind, simply stepping to press his desired floor. He quickly realised, though, that the stranger sharing the elevator was not simply a stranger.

The man turned to look at his silent companion, eyes calculating. He was taken aback for a split second — no one knew where they lived, especially not their floor — until recognition dawned on him, then his lips curled into a smirk.

'Well, hello there,' he paused, eyes glinting. 'Jennie, darling.'

Jennie scoffed and rolled her eyes, continuing to ignore him. She could feel his gaze burning holes through the side of her head, felt his head cock to the right when he noticed her lack of response but she remained solidly frozen, eyes fixed on the metal wall before her.

After all, Jin had warned her, hadn't he?
