Chapter 19

The next morning, we went about making breakfast as usual, and finished bringing the food out just as the girls joined the crew. The breakfast table was livelier than usual, with everyone chatting and getting acquainted with each other. Me and Nathan watched on in amusement, catching pieces of different conversations.

"You snore." Penelope teases Eduardo, giving him a sly smirk. I burst out laughing, not able to help myself, earning a glare from Eduardo.

"The hell I do woman, you're full of it." He says, turning his attention back to Penelope.

"Well this one, is a blanket hog." Kris chimes in, pointing at Russell with her fork.

"The hell. I am not." Russell protest, a blush creeping across his cheeks. Kris laughs, nudging the fencer playfully, before she begins eating again.

"Well it's better than this one he -" Cecilia starts, but is cut off by Morgan, who picks her up, putting her on his lap, much to her protest.

"Morgan...So god help me.." Cecilia exclaims, rolling her eyes at Morgan, as she tries to get up. Captain only tightens his grip on her, attempting to pull her closer.

"Captain, unless you want to get slapped again, I wouldn't suggest doing that." Nathan warns, laughing.

"Bish you reek of alcohol!" Cecilia exclaims, pulling away from him. "How can you reek of alcohol already this early?"

"That's Captain for ya."Russell chimes in, laughing.

"Anyway Captain, where are we headed to next?" Eduardo asks, drawing the attention to Captain.

"Well, first we'll go to wherever these lovely ladies need to go, unless you decide to stay that is." he starts, looking at the four women. "Then in about four days, it's that time of the year again for the Pirate Games, on Pirate island."

"Pirate games?" I ask, raising an eyebrow at Captain.

He nods."The Pirate games are held every year on Pirate Island. The Island is a well kept secret from the Navy, and Pirates from all over gather there once a year, for a couple weeks to participate. You can't fight or steal while there, unless the event you are participating in calls for it. There's a bunch of small events to participate in, anything from dagger throwing to athletic sports. The main event though, is the pirate treasure hunt, which is ongoing for a week. It is always going on, during the other events. Each ship can dock anywhere they want around the island, and each ship must pick one chosen item, that they don't mind getting taken, and clearly label it. You hide it on the ship somewhere, and basically the crew who steals the most treasure wins. You can only steal the one item though." Captain explains, the room suddenly quiet as we all listen.

"Do we win anything?"Russell asks, looking at Morgan.

"Yes. I'm not sure what though, I'm not in charge of it this year. This year is Captain Alan's turn to make arrangements I believe." Morgan answers, shrugging.

We all finish our breakfast, and everyone goes off to do what they want. I quickly help Nathan gather the dishes, and head into the kitchen. "Pirate games huh?" I ask, glancing at Nate as I do the dishes.

He nods."Yea... actually we usually win every year." he admits, shrugging.

We hear a sudden knock on the door, and look to see Luna standing in the doorway. Her kind brown eyes meeting mine, as she walks into the room. "Did ya need something Luna?" I ask, giving her a gentle smile.

"Actually, I was wondering if I could use the kitchen to bake something for later, if you don't mind." She asks, looking at me and Nate.

"Of course. You bake?" I ask, and she chuckles, nodding.

"I do. I wanted to bake something for everyone, and we could have it later after dinner."she answers, still laughing.

"I'm sure the crew would love that. They all like sweets, especially Christopher." I tell her laughing, giving her a playful wink, as I finish putting away the dishes. I start to head to the door to leave, before turning around one last time. "Nathan, be nice." I tell him, smirking at him.

He rolls his eyes at me, while he finishes putting away the pans he washed. "Oh and Luna? You have my permission to smack him upside the head if you need to okay?" I add, laughing.

Nathan rolls his eyes."Really woman? Wow I see how it is....You hear this Luna? My own fiance, giving other women permission to hit me." he says, shaking his head with a smirk.

Luna laughs at our banter, as she starts to take out ingredients, for what looks like a cake. I leave the room, heading off to see what everyone else is up to, plus I still need to talk to Captain.

I wander out onto the deck, and see Thomas watching Kris spar with Russell. I join Thomas on the steps, watching the two spar. Their swords clash, and both move with graceful footing, making it look like a deadly dance of sorts. "She's good." Thomas chirps, and I nod in agreement.

"She is. You can tell he's not holding back either, like he normally does when helping someone practice." I add, still watching them. "She's good to the point where he can't hold back."

"That all you got Russ?" Kris adds, chuckling, as Russell barely dodges her sword. It got eerily close to his cheek.

"Tsk. Of course not woman." he answers, giving her a sly smirk, as their swords clash again. He tries to swipe at her feet, and she quickly jumps up, dodging it, before gracefully landing, not missing a beat.

Christopher joins us, watching as well. "Russell may have met his match." Chris says, as he watches the two.

"Care to make a bet out of it? My money's on Russell." Eduardo adds, joining us.

"I'll take that bet. My money's on Kris." Christopher adds, shaking the navigators hand.

"I bet on Russell." Thomas chirps, smiling at us.

"Russell is very good at what he does, but this time, I bet on Kris." I say placing my bet. Eduardo nods, and returns to the upper deck, to steer the ship.

We watch the two continue, pretty much an even match. You can tell they are both getting tired though, both sweating, and you can hear their breathing slightly heavier than normal. "Just yield already dammit." Kris grumbles, as she dodges again.

Russell laughs. "Not a chance in hell." They parry for another good fifteen minutes, when Russell messes up his footing, giving Kris the opening she needs. She corners him, knocking his sword away, as she points hers at his neck, a triumphant smile on her lips.

"Damn. Well played woman." Russell says, admitting defeat. He smiles, and they shake hands, before they both go off to the kitchen in search of water. I head up to the upper deck, in search of Captain. I come across Penelope, who's sitting on the upper deck, drawing away on a pad of paper. She's so absorbed, she doesn't notice my approach until I'm right next to her.

"You draw huh?" I ask, and she jumps slightly at my voice, as I look over her shoulder.

She nods."I do." she answers simply, as she looks at me.

"May I?" i ask, gesturing to the sketch pad, and she nods, smiling, handing it over. I flip through a couple pages, admiring her work. There's a couple of the ship, and some of the ocean view, at different times of day. The last one, the one she's currently working on is Eduardo, steering the ship. "You're really talented. I like to draw too, but I'm nowhere near this good." I add, handing her the book back.

"Thank you." she adds, giving me a smile, and I sit down next to her.

"It looks just like him by the way." I add, nodding towards Eduardo and a slight blush goes across her cheeks. "It might not seems like it, but once you get to now him, he's a good guy. He has a softer side, and it takes some time for him to let someone see it, but it's there." I add, meeting her gaze.

She nods. "I could see that. He just likes to hide it with sarcasm." she says, looking in his direction.

"Oh, and I don't know if you've given it any thought yet, but consider staying on the ship. It's a good group, and I'm sure everyone would like you to stay." I add, glancing towards Eduardo, and she nods.

"I'll let you know." She answers simply. I get up, off to find Captain. I finally reach his room, and knock on the door. I can hear noise, and voices.

I hear Cecilia yell."Really Morgan!" before she opens the door, looking slightly flustered, and I laugh.

"Are you behaving yourself Captain?" I ask, smirking at Morgan, and he shrugs. "Anyway, I have a favor to ask." I add, stepping into the room, and closing the door behind me. "I wanted to ask if we could stop at two places, before my wedding. I wanted to do something for Nate. I wanted to go get Sara, and his childhood friend Nero. I don't know where Nathan is from originally but I think Nero would be there.. Will you help me?" I ask, meeting his stormy grey eyes with my brown ones.

"Oh you should help her Morgan. She's trying to do something special for her man." Cecilia says, looking at Morgan.

He finally nods."Yes, I suppose so. When were you wanting to do that?"

"Um before the wedding.. like a day or so? I was wondering if we could have a small wedding on the ship with everyone, before the Pirate games. But if the girls have somewhere to be, I can wait until after. I'd like the girls to be there too though." I answer, looking at both Morgan, and Cecilia.

"I don't see why we couldn't do it now.." Cecilia trails off, looking to Morgan.

"We should have enough time before the games." Morgan agrees, nodding.

"Well, if the girls have somewhere to go, then I don't want to interfere with that. We'd have to ask the rest of them." I add, meeting Cecilia's gaze.

She shrugs."Ask them at dinner then." I nod, and leave the room, going to help Nathan with the dinner preparations.
