Chapter 12

Me and Nathan make our way carefully through the market, gathering groceries. I can't help but feel uneasy, constantly glancing around for the navy. Nathan sighs. "Normal people don't keep glancing around so much tomboy." he says softly.

"I'm sorry, I just can't help but be a little paranoid. Feels like we're surrounded or somethin'." I admit, shivering.

He smiles, pulling me against him, and lightly pressing his lips to my forehead. I feel myself start to relax at his touch. "Thanks Nate." I whisper. He smiles and shrugs, keeping an arm around my waist, as he continues to lead me through the market.

We finally get everything, and start heading back to the Sirus, to drop groceries, when we hear a familiar, yet annoying voice. "My pearl! It must be fate to run into you here!" Alan exclaims upon seeing me.

I roll my eyes at the captain of the Rika. "I'm not your pearl, and your probably followin' us." I scoff, and Nathan glares at Alan.

Alan frowns."I'm not following! We are connected by the strings of fate." he whines, trying to take my hand in his.

Nathan slaps his hand away, and glares. "Don't touch her. I still haven't forgotten the last incident Alan." he growls, making Alan cringe.

"I told you I didn't see anythin' bandanna!" Alan shrieks, drawing attention of the people nearby.

"Shut up! Do you want to draw the navy to us?" I hiss, glaring at Alan.

His eyes widen."The navy?" he asks, a little too loudly.

Nathan rolls his eyes, and I sigh. "Shut it, you idiot! Ugh come on." I grumble, grabbing both their hands, dragging them towards the port.

"Why are we taking him with?" Nathan huffs, at me, scowling.

"It's easier than trying to ditch him. Knowing him, he'll attract the navy, the last thing we need." I explain, sighing in relief when we finally reach the Sirus.

"Valid point tomboy." Nathan chuckles, ruffling my hair. I smile, and we carry the groceries in to the kitchen, Captain Alan trailing behind us as we put the food away. "So now what do we do with him?" Nathan asks, gesturing to Captain Alan.

I look at Alan, and shrug."I don't know...How about you go find your crew? Be careful though, this is the navy capital." I tell him, and his eyes widen in surprise.

"N-navy capital?" Alan stammers, looking slightly panicked.

I roll my eyes."Yes this is Moldor, didn't you know that you idiot?" I ask exasperated. Being around Captain Alan for long periods of time is exhausting.

"He didn't know because he was just blindly following us. Idiot." Nathan says, narrowing his eyes at Alan.

Alan randomly starts smiling."Take me to Morgan." He announces suddenly. What the hell? I glance at Nate, unsure what to do.

Nathan sighs. "Might as well take him with. Otherwise he won't shut up, then the navy will be on us in seconds." he shrugs.

"Alright. We're meeting Morgan and the crew at a bar in town. Don't cause trouble and get us arrested dipshit." I lecture Alan, glaring at him.

"Thank you Bandanna! My pearl!" Alan exclaims, as he tries to hug me.

Nathan tugs him back, by his shirt."How many times must i remind you not to touch her?" he asks, glaring at Alan again.

Alan pouts, but backs off. "Alright, as long as you take me to Morgan." he adds.

Nathan and I both nod, and we all start walking to the bar, where we were supposed to meet Morgan and the crew. We make our way through town, avoiding the navy. Though we had to threaten Captain Alan a few times, we eventually reached the bar safely.

We walk in, and see the crew at a booth towards the back, and make our way towards them."What took so long lovebirds?" Russell shouts, making me and Nathan blush.

"Trying to keep a low profile with our loud dog in tow." I smirk, gesturing to Alan.

"More like stalker." Nathan snorts, prompting laughs from the crew.

We take our seats, and Alan joins us, sitting next to Morgan. I end up between Thomas and Nathan. "He wouldn't shut up unless we brought him. Didn't want his loud ass attracting the navy." I add, glancing at the rest of the crew, as I explain.

"Dipshit didn't even know this was Moldor." Nathan comments, rolling his eyes, and everyone gasps.

"You call yerself a Captain and you didn't know you docked at Moldor?" Eduardo scoffs, disgusted, raising an eyebrow at Alan.

Russell chuckles."That's because he was following us without paying attention." he adds, laughing.

"How rude! I was following my pearl!" Alan whines, pouting.

I snort."Stalker, I'm not your pearl." I snap, glaring.

"Besides, she's hardly a pearl. There are many more fully grown and better developed women out there, than this scrawny kid." Eduardo adds, smirking.

"Stop being an asshole Ed." Nathan growls, glaring at our navigator.

Eduardo rolls his eyes in response. "Can't take a joke can you Nathan?" he asks, raising an eyebrow.

Before anyone can say anything else, the nearby waitress drops a couple of glasses, shattering glass all over the floor. "N-Nathan?" she stammers, and we all turn to look at her. She's pretty, with short blonde hair, and almost lilac eyes, busty, and very feminine looking.

A flicker of recognition goes across Nathan's face. "Sara?" he stammers, looking at her. They both smile, and Nathan gets up, and they hug each other.

I feel my heart sinking just watching them. The crew all exchange confused looks, except for Captain and I. I know who she is. Sara, his childhood friend. Sara, the girl he thought he lost. Sara, who I'm pretty sure was his first love. Dammit.

"I-i thought you were dead." she exclaims, as her eyes start tearing up.

"Tsk. That's my line." Nathan says sounding amused.

The rest of the crew looks at me, and I feel my face heating up, as I try to keep my composure. They then return their attention back to the embracing couple, with looks of shock written on most of their faces. I can only imagine what my face looks right now.

"I've so much to tell you." Sara says, smiling at Nate.

"Yea." he comments, smiling back. "I think we might be leaving soon though." he adds, frowning.

"Ah we can stay an extra day Nate. Not often ya see a childhood friend." Captain cuts in, winking.

I glare at Morgan, my expression clearly showing my displeasure. He sees the look I'm giving him, and shrugs, putting a finger to his lips, letting me know to keep quiet. Bastard.

Nathan nods at Captain."Alright, we can catch up tomorrow."he suggest, looking at Sara.

She nods enthusiastically."Sounds good. Oh! who are you friends?" she asks, looking at us, like she finally just noticed us. I grit my teeth, barely able to suppress the urge to roll my eyes at her.

Nathan laughs."This is the Sirus crew. I'm a pirate now." he winks at her, and I want to punch something.

My heart aches on how easily he seems to be open with her. Dammit, I'm upset and pissed at the same time. I've never felt this before, though I already know why I feel this way.

"Wow Nate, a pirate!" she smiles, and then looks at us, once again. "Oh! I'm Sara, Nathan's childhood friend nice to meet you! And you all are?" she adds, looking at us, even though she asked that not even five minutes ago.

"Hello Sara! I'm Captain Morgan, of the Sirus, the crew here consist of: Eduardo, Russell, Christopher, Thomas, Arabella, ya know Nate, and that is Captain Alan of the Rika." Captain introduces us all, pointing to each as he says our names.

"Nice to meet you! Oh! A woman pirate." she exclaims noticing me.

I smirk. "Yea we do exist. Rare, and I've only seen one other so far, but we do exist." I say, unable to keep the sarcasm out of my tone, as I wink at her.

She looks confused at my tone, but smiles anyway. I catch Russell giving me an amused look, the question clear in his eyes.

I meet his gaze, and shrug rolling my eyes. He stifles a laugh, picking up on how I feel towards her. "Let's go back to the ship for tonight crew." Captain announces, getting up. We follow suit, getting up. We leave the bar, walking back in a group. Instead of Nathan, I find myself beside Russell on the walk back.

"Ya okay Arabella?" he asks quietly, glancing back and forth between me and Nate.

I shrug."I don't know Russ. She was his first love, he thought she died....I don't know."I admit sadly.

"Tsk. We all see how much Nathan loves you." he gently chides me.

"Yea. But she's beautiful, and more feminine. What if he wants someone more like that?" I ask, upset, trying not to cry.

"Tsk. Girl like that? She can't keep up with us. He'd always have to protect her. Na, Nate needs a fellow pirate, someone who can be at his side, not watchin' from the sidelines. He loves you Arabella." Russell tells me, as he wraps an arm around my shoulder, squeezing it.

I smile at his kind words."Thanks Russ."

He smiles in return."No problem." he adds quietly, as he walks ahead of me to get on the ship.

We all make our way towards our rooms, and I follow Nathan quietly. "Ya okay there tomboy? Kinda quiet." Nathan says, nudging me.

"Yea I'm good, just a little tired." I say, forcing a smile. I can't tell him I'm jealous, and that i'm scared to death to loose him. That I'm scared he will leave me....

"Yea was a long day. Especially with Alan constantly on our ass." he snorts.

I laugh, and it feels good, almost normal. "Yea I can't believe he didn't know that was Moldor." I add, still laughing.

"Yea. Wow can't believe Sara is still alive." he adds, making my chest hurt.

"Yea." Is all I can bring myself to say, and I feel my chest tighten, and my heart sinking.

We lay down for the night, and Nathan pulls me close, and gently kisses me. I smile. "G'night Nathan." I murmur.

"G'night tomboy." he answers. I drift off after awhile, trying not to think about him going to visit Sara tomorrow. Shit.
