Once Klaus cracked their captors had what they wanted because they locked them both in the closet, now Ryder wasn't claustrophobic but he knew that Klaus was which was Ryder's main concern. They couldn't talk because their kidnappers put tape over their mouths but Ryder tried his best to keep his hand on Klaus's leg as a calming presence.

Ryder knew that a withdraw plus claustrophobia wasn't a good sign because that led to the behavior that he was watching Klaus do. He kept squirming and whimpering behind the tape, every now and then Ryder would see a tear slip out which would break Ryder's heart.

He closes his eyes and tried to block out the sound that Klaus was making, he pushed the heat down in his body and let it come out of his fingers heating the tape.

The small closet glowed in orange because of the fire, Klaus's eyes widened in shock. He knew that Ryder had fire powers but he's never seen anything this big come out of Ryder before.

Ryder gently peeled the tape off of his mouth leaving it hanging on the side so he can put it on when he hears them coming back. "Let me." Ryder gently says before peeling off the tape slightly letting it hang. "You should get out of here Ryder, they don't need you. They want Five and I know about Five but you don't."

Ryder laughed softly. "I'm not leaving you, it's either both of us goes or both of us stay." Instead of smiling Klaus lets out a shiver and slowly takes a deep breath.

"Cold?"

Klaus shakes his head closing his eyes and leaning his head back on the clothes. "Ben is here and I keep having flashbacks." Ryder frowned, he lifted his hand and put it on Klaus's leg rubbing softly. "I'm sorry, I wish I could hug you but I can't move my arms much."

Klaus sniffed but nodded in understanding. "This sucks, going through withdrawal while being kidnapped." Ryder sighed. "We're gonna get out of this, I promise."

Klaus smiled, when Ryder looked at Klaus he didn't see humor he saw the emptiness in his eyes. "Are we going to get out of this alive is the question?" Ryder opened his mouth but he heard the doorknob to the hotel room jiggle follow by voices.

Ryder looked at Klaus panicked before he taped the tape back on both of their mouths and carefully taped his hands back up. "Oh my god, they're still here." The kidnappers opened the closet door and each of them dragged their chairs to the room, Ryder was off to the side while Klaus was in middle just like the first position that they put them in.

Klaus starts talking behind the tape. "What's he saying?" The woman said looking at the tall guy puzzled before ripping the tape off. "You guys are scarier without the masks." Klaus chuckles which gets him a slap to the face making Ryder yell behind the tape, the tall man rolls his eyes and ripes Ryder's tape off too. "That's no way to say hello to your old friends, is it?"

Ryder's breathing picked up, his chest was moving up and down quickly. "You're no friend of ours, remember. I can still make you burn in hell alive."

The tall guy chuckled and held his hands in the air. "I'm so scared."

"I already gave you guys what you wanted, are we ready to call it a night?"

The woman crossed her arms. "Well, technically, we want your brother. Is your brother here now?" Klaus looked over to the couch which told Ryder he was seeing Ben. "You're gonna have to be a little more specific on that." Klaus chuckles which earns him another slap from the woman.

"Ow! I already told you, he isn't coming."

"Well, Number Five knows now, and when he comes for you, we'll be ready."

They closed the blinds and turned the lights off, leaving Ryder and a groaning Klaus in silence and darkness.

Ryder can see something is happening to Klaus, he became hollow and his eyes glazed over. "Klaus." Klaus closes his eyes tightly as he starts to mutter. "No, no, no, no."

"Oh, Jesus."

Ryder's brows furrow at what Klaus said but he stays silent. "Hi." When Ryder follows Klaus's gaze he realizes Klaus must be talking to a ghost. "What's your name?"

"Oh! That's a lovely name, and can you tell me what happened?"

The woman who is holding them hostage groans loudly. "What happens is if you don't shut up, I'm going to cut your tongue out with a grapefruit spoon."

Klaus ignores her but says what Ryder thinks is a name. "Zoya Popova."

"Old Russian broad, short, with a limp."

Klaus laughs loudly shaking his head. "Oh, she's really pissed at you guys."

Ryder smiles when he realizes what Klaus is doing, it appears that Klaus is talking to a victim of theirs and is trying to annoy them or to get under their skin.

"Everybody, just shut up, please shut up."

He knew what was happening to Klaus, the spirits were overwhelming him, which meant they had more victims than just two. Ryder saw their kidnappers talking when they suddenly walked over to Klaus and turned his chair to face them. "Which one are you? Cha-Cha or Hazel?"

"Hazel."

Klaus looks at Hazel with cold eyes. "Jan Mueller, remember him? Swiss Alps. He and his wife were coming back from a ski trip."

Hazel and Cha-Cha roll their eyes before getting up and taping Klaus's mouth shut before walking to the bathroom.

Ryder looks at Klaus with hope in his eyes. "You did good Klaus, I promise." Klaus nods at Ryder before moving towards the table beside him.

He yells behind his taped mouth trying to get someone who was walking by to save them, when that didn't work he started to bang his head on the table which it made a thumping sound.

They were in luck when they heard the lock click. "Are you Diego's brother?" Klaus nods and she starts cutting the binds. "Detective Patch."

Before she can cut Ryder free the bathroom door starts creaking. A shot is fired and Klaus ducks behind the bed.

Ryder closes his eyes and focuses on melting the tape from around his wrist, he slips free and rips the tape from his mouth off.

"Drop the gun, or you're going down!"

It's silent before Hazel drops his gun, Ryder takes the time to run behind Detective Patch towards Klaus.

Ryder leans towards Klaus's ear to whisper. "Grab the coat and get the vent open." Klaus nods and wraps the coat around him before popping the vent open. "Go." Ryder pushes Klaus lightly.

Klaus starts pushing the briefcase, but before he gets in the vent he turns around and kisses Ryder on the lips. Ryder barely had time to process before Klaus got into the vent.

Ryder hears a shot go off and his eyes widen as Detective Patch goes done.

Cha-Cha looks at Ryder smirking. "Maybe we can use you." Ryder smiles crookedly, fire starting to glow from his fingertips. "Try and you'll get burned." Both of them started to advance when they looked behind him to see the briefcase missing and they turned around and ran out of the motel room.

Ryder's heart beat fast as he ran towards the Detective. "Klaus?" Ryder looked up when he heard Diego's voice, Diego's eyes widened when he saw Ryder, and then he gasped when he saw who Ryder was standing over. "Eudora."

Ryder gulped as Diego held on to Eudora's body. "Do you have a phone? I can call 9-1-1." Ryder's voice was ruff as a phone was wordlessly pushed into his hands.

He sniffed as he typed in the numbers, they were free but at what cost?
