"School sucks."
╚═══════════════╝

AUTUMN Kai-Sommers was laying in her bed dreading for school. It's not that she hated it she was great at school. It was the people at the school who were the problem.

She didn't have many friends except for one person. Bria Delven. She stuck by her side even though it got her picked on in school.

Autumn was at the top of her class and was even taking some AP courses so she can get into a good college. School was very important to her and takes it very seriously. If there's a project due in a week she'll get it done that night or the next day. When there's a test she studies all night and almost always gets As or Bs.

Even though her parents never cared about her grades and didn't mind if she got one C or D it was very important to her. The only subject she hated was P.E.

Autumn sighed as she laid down on her bed with her hand on her stomach waiting a few minutes to get something to eat. Her stomach growled in anticipation. She was already dressed and dreaded for school. Her mom was at work already and her father was still home.

She groaned as she sat and stood from the bed and treaded down stairs where her father was already eating his breakfast.

"Hey sweetie," Her father greeted with a mouthful of eggs.

"Hey dad," She smiled then got a bowel from the cupboard and milk from the fridge.

After pouring the milk she went to get the Mini Wheats and then sat down next to her father. He didn't need to be at work til 12 since he was a mechanic while her mom a successful business woman had to be up before 8.

"You ready for that school project," Her father asked as he finishes his plate and wiped his hands off on a napkin.

"Yeah," Autumn sighed sadly.

"Why're you sad about you love school," He pointed out getting up and putting his plate in the sink and washing it.

"It's a partner project," Autumn muttered biting her lip and fidgeting her hands. She took a mouthful of cereal wanting to finish.

"I'm sure the person you'll be partnered with will be nice," Her father reassured her before sitting down next to her.

"They'll probably pass the work onto me," Autumn pointed out a smile painting her lips.

"You know that's a bad thing right," Her father corrected.

"Not for me the less I see the person the better," Autumn says in a more chipper tone. She drinks the rest of the milk before putting it in the sink and washing it.

"Tell me if they're all picking on you or whatever and I'll have a special talk with them," Her father gruffly said.

"Dad you can't beat up kids— well maybe Trent since he got held back multiple times," Autumn answered outing her hand on her hip. "That's besides the point it would only make me look like a bigger loser," She got out quickly seeing the smile on his face.

"Hey you're no loser," Her father chastised her.

"You only think that because I'm your daughter," Autumn verified while rolling her eyes.

"I don't see your point," Her father asks while looking at her. He takes a look at his watch and his eyes widen. "You're late for school," He cautioned her and her mouth goes agape.

"Dang it," Autumn snaps grabbing her back pack and her lunch going for the door. "Love you dad," She yells.

"Love you too sweetheart," Her father yells back sitting back down and looking at the newspaper.

Autumn picks up her bike and starts to hightail it to the school. She live near the school so she never needed a ride from her parents.

Plus she loved how free she felt. Autumn loved the wind in her hair and the adrenaline rushing through her veins as cars passed her and sometimes passing cars. That's the only reason she woke up early so she could get to school on time.

She breaths heavily as she arrives at school tying up her bike and running into the school. Autumn puts her stuff in her locker and grabs her science book and notebook where she has the directions for the project.

Running through the halls would've gotten her in trouble if there was a teacher there but in that moment she didn't care. She takes a deep breath as sweat dribbles down her face and stands in front of her science class. Nerves start to rack up as she twist the hand of the door and entered the classroom to see partners already paired up. Her teacher looked shock since Autumn was never late.

"Ms. Autumn -," Her year her Mrs. Lindings was about to say something but autumn interrupted her.

"Please don't be mad I didn't realize I was late I had breakfast late and was rushing all the way from home to here please don't punish me," Autumn ranted and begged at the same time.

"Since this is your first time I'll excuse it," Mrs. Lindings assured her. "But don't let it happen again," She advised her.

"Don't worry never again," Autumn shaking her head disappointed in her self. "Who's my partner," She asks looking around the classroom.

"Luckily for you we have a new student today that you'll be paired up with," Mrs. Lindings put her glasses on and took a look at the paper in front of her. Autumn sighed 'great'. A frown formed on her lips. "You'll be working with Mr. Davenport," She told her and pointed to a desk where there was a guy with dirty blondish hair.

"Thanks Mrs Lindings," Autumn tried to sound nice but her tone sounded dreadful. Her teacher gave her a sympathetics smile.

Autumn lowered her head as she walked towards the desk and sat next to the boy who was intently already working on the project. The project was to study the life of a caterpillar which was weird since Autumn did this in middle school.

She sat down in the chair next his pulling her own worksheet out.

"Hey I'm Autumn I'm supposed to be your partner for-for the project," Autumn muttered while stuttering a bit. The boy looked up at her with a confused look. His eyes were a hazel color she knows that but she thought she saw a hint of blue in there. Autumn shakes her head not thinking about it.

"Didn't know we had partners," He shrugged and went back to the worksheet which was already almost done. 'Didn't really want one' Autumn thinks to herself as she forces a smile to appear on her lips.

"Thought this was a partner work where you know you work together," Autumn says as she nervously chuckles. She twirls her pencil in her hand as she stares at him.

"Don't worry about that I'll have it finished for you," The boy says as he waves his hand.

"Uh no I want to work on it," Autumn scoffs as her brows furrow. "I take my school work very seriously," She tells him as he looks up at and rolls his eyes.

"Yeah so seriously you were late," The boy scoffed.

"It was a one time thing," Autumn snaps as anger fills her veins.

"Listen just let me do the work and a guarantee an A," The boy reassured her with a sarcastic smile on his face.

"Uh how about no," Autumn refused turning her body so she wasn't facing him and started to work as Chase rolls his eyes as he finishes up his work.

"School sucks," Autumn mutters as she stares at the worksheet and then starts to fill the paper with words trying to not hit the boy besides her
