Update!
Hello everyone, long time no see 😅
It's been a very long time since I've posted, but I haven't forgotten about this story and I intend to finish it. I was in the mood to write today, but a lot of my wips weren't really speaking to me. I started thinking about this story and how I really needed to update it because I do still intend on finishing it, even though it's been a long time.
So I started reading through it to refresh on what I had written, and I honestly enjoyed the read through, dispite the random spelling errors, some silly time continuity mistakes, and overall sometimes cringy writing.
Reading through this story made me remember how much I loved it and all the time I spent cranking out chapters every week. And then I logged back into wattpad for the first time in almost a year, and started reading through the comments people left. Some of them were more recent then I expected.
I don't want to leave you all hanging for a long time. Yes, I promised to finish this story no matter how long it took, but I know as a reader it's sad to see a story not updated in a long time. I'm also afraid if I wait too long, none of my readers would be left to see how the story ends. I think that also kept me deterred from revisiting this story, because I doubted anyone would still care about it.
And the lack of updates was not a case of writer's block. I think I had major burn out on this story.
The weekly updates back then were very taxing on me, and I felt like the quality of the writing wasn't the greatest because I was just trying to crank out 1k words before I went to sleep every Friday. But I kept going for my readers until I finally just couldn't do it anymore, and the updates got slower, and slower until they stopped.
All that to say, I've finally started writing the next chapter. I know exactly where I want the story to go, and where I've left off, I know how I want to continue.
So, despite the fact that it may result in me getting burnt out again, I'm reinstating weekly updates. This is because I want my readers to get the ending that they waited so long for. But it's also because I want to write more often, and rereading this story made me remember why I love contestshipping so much.
I also forgot that in chapter 55: burst, I had Drew say to May he wished she never confessed to him so that things would have been easier between them. I couldn't believe he said that, even though I'm the one that wrote it. So thanks to that scene for sucking me back into this fic 😂 I have to make him apologize for that!
I will be updating every Friday! I know I have readers from the eastern hemisphere, so for you all, by the time I post it will probably be Saturday or late Friday night so keep that in mind :)
Thank you all for your patience. This is all for you
See you soon
