Hey guys! I have an important announcement at the bottom if you all would read the author's note and respond! That would be great!

Previously...

"Why did I want to tell her that?" He mumbled to himself, his face burning in embarrassment. He then covered his face with his hands. His was feeling the after effects of his nerves from the earlier conversation.

"What is happening to me?" He whispered to himself.

After a few more days of traveling down Route 32, May and Drew finally found a town to rest and restock. Bloomingvale was a town landscaped with many gardens. It was a lovely town but it was kinda weird. Everywhere May looked, there were Sunflora. Every person they had walked by had a Sunflora at their side. She looked at Drew with her eyebrows raised, questioning if he knew what was going on. He met her gaze and shrugged slightly with an expression just as confused as her. The strangeness didn't stop when they walked into the Pokemon center. Instead of the usual Chansey that accompanied Nurse Joy, the Bloomingvale Nurse Joy had a Sunflora companion. They left their Pokemon with her to be healed up and got a key for their room. They went up the stairs and settled their things down. They finally brought up the excessive amount of Sunflora.

"This place is weird, why does everybody and their mother have a Sunflora?" May asked, completely baffled.

"I don't know. it's not exactly a popular Pokemon," Drew said. She furrowed her brows before pulling out her PokeNav from her backpack pocket. She sat down on her bed and looked up the town. She felt the mattress dip beside her as Drew sat down. He leaned in to see her screen. Swallowing the lump in her throat, May tapped the link of a website talking about the town.

"Bloomingvale, the Solar Town. Apparently it's famous for its Sunflora Festival every summer," May said.

"Well, that explains it," Drew said as he stood up. "We should probably go and stock up on some supplies while we're here," he went over and slung his bag over his shoulder. The two went back downstairs and retrieved their Pokemon from Nurse Joy and headed out into the town.

Some Sunflora were sunbathing while others were lifting weights. Then there were some playing together happily. As if sensing that some Pokemon were playing, Cyndaquil invited himself out, excitedly running around and weaving in and out between their legs.

"Hey! Cyndaquil! Cut it out!" Drew exclaimed.

"Cyn Cyn!" He laughed before shooting off towards the Sunflora that were playing.

"Hey! Get back here!" May and Drew chased after. The Sunflora weren't exactly sure what to make of Cyndaquil as he ran circles around them. His energy was short lived when one of the Sunflora's trainers sprayed Cyndaquil with a hose. The fire Pokemon cried out in pain. Drew looked up to see the perpetrator.

"Hey! What'd you do that for?" He snapped at the man. He bent down to pick up the soaked Cyndaquil who was whimpering.

"That thing was bothering the Sunflora! They don't like fire type Pokemon!" The man spat.

"Spraying it with a hose was completely unnecessary though!" May exclaimed.

"Well if you knew how to watch your Pokemon, we wouldn't have this problem!" The man accused. "Plus, that Cyndaquil's a weakling if a little water hurts it that much," he said smugly.

"What did you just say?" Drew growled.

"You heard me, boy," the man said, walking menacingly towards them.

"Cyndaquil's still just a baby, it's not good at taking water attacks yet! You can't do something like that," Drew said, an intensity building around. May had never seen him like this before, it was the most protective she'd ever seen him.

"I guess that means my Sunflora could take your Cyndaquil down, no problem," The man said confidently.

"As if! You want to test that?" Drew challenged.

"Cynda! Cynda!" Cyndaquil exclaimed as if saying, 'you want some?'

"With pleasure you smug little brat!" The man accepted, and he beckoned to his Sunflora. May sprayed a bit of potion on Cyndaquil and he was ready to go, his flames rising higher in anger.

"I'll referee," May volunteered. Drew looked down at Cyndaquil in his arms.

"Alright, this is our first battle. I know you're very free spirited, but we need to work together okay? You have to trust me, okay?" He said. Cyndaquil looked up at him curiously before nodding. Drew bent down and set him on the ground.

"Let the battle begin!" May exclaimed.

"Sunflora! Use Razor Leaf!" The man exclaimed.

"Cyndaquil! Dodge with quick attack!" Drew said. Cyndaquil charged forward, avoiding the leaves and landing a direct hit on the sunflower Pokemon.

"What!" The man gasped in surprise.

"Just because Cyndaquil's a baby, doesn't mean that I'm a new trainer!" Drew said smugly.

"Mega drain!" The main growled. Cyndaquil was still close and got hit directly. It cried out in surprise.

"Ember!" Drew called. Sunflora didn't have the time to avoid that attack either. Cyndaquil ran back out of range after landing its attack.

"Leech seed Sunflora!" Suddenly, vines came up and tied down Cyndaquil. It zapped some of his health.

"Cyndaquil! Ember on the vines!" Drew exclaimed as the Sunflora was powering up a solar beam. It was able to break free.

"Now! Quick attack!" Drew exclaimed, but that's not what Cyndaquil did. He charged the Sunflora straight on and flames began to form around it. A flame charge attack. Cyndaquil tackled the Sunflora which caused the solar beam to shoot up in the sky.

"Ember!"

"Mega Drain!"

Cyndaquil let loose it's attack first, and dissipated the mega drain. The Sunflora was left with a burn as Cyndaquil backed off. The man was starting to get worried which was starting to show in his Pokemon.

"Razor leaf!" The man cried, panicked.

"Flame charge!" Drew exclaimed. Cyndaquil rushed forward, faster this time from the speed boost it had gotten from the first flame charge attack. The leaves that touched the flames burned up before they could cause Cyndaquil any damage. It directly struck the Sunflora, causing it to lose its stability. While Cyndaquil was still in the air it let out another ember at Drew's command. Sunflora didn't get up after that.

"Sunflora? Sunflora!" The man exclaimed. It's eyes swirled to show that it had fainted.

"Sunflora is unable to battle, Cyndaquil wins!" May exclaimed. Cyndaquil ran up to Drew and jumped on him, crawling up to perch on his head. Drew laughed.

"I know buddy, I'm happy for you too," Cyndaquil puffed out his chest and let out a small puff of fire in pride.

"Don't go getting too big headed now," drew chuckled as he warned the Pokemon. The man sulked up to them, he had returned his Sunflora.

"I'm sorry for spraying your Cyndaquil," the man huffed before turning on his heel and sluggishly walked away.

"Good job Cyndaquil! You were great!" May praised him. She lifted her hand up to pet him.

"That guy was pretty rude," Drew thought aloud.

"Yeah, but let's just forget about him. We have to get some supplies right? We shouldn't wasted all our time just standing here, I'm starting to get hungry so we need to get back to the Pokemon Center at a decent time," May said.

"Yeah, you're right," he agreed. "I think you've caused enough trouble today. Come on, back in your ball," He said, holding the ball up. Cyndaquil protested as it was returned.

"Let's go," May said. He nodded.

-A/N-

Whew. This took longer than expected. I had no idea what to do for this chapter. I was experiencing some frustrating writer's block . I started by trying to find out some towns between Violet City and Azalea Town so I was going through a bunch of Johto episodes until I found this town. I didn't know what to do at the beginning so that's why it's weird, but then I thought of some Cyndaquil shenanigans, and that turned into a battle.

Anyways, I have an announcement...

I have a new contestshipping story idea, but it's up to you to choose the setting of the story. The options are

AU

Post canon in Johto

Canon Hoenn or Kanto

I won't say what it's about, but it's very character driven so it would work in either one. I won't be posting it until I'm actually down with it though. If you've ever read Seven by I am lou on fanfiction.net, I'm thinking of formatting it kind of similar. That story is my absolute favorite Contestshipping fanfiction, and was a huge inspiration for Platonic, even though it doesn't really show. In the earlier stages of its development, there were elements. Anyway, I'm hoping that this new story will be on par with how high quality Seven is, but we'll have to see.

If you all could vote for which setting you'd like it to be, that would be just so helpful and amazing!

I didn't say this in my one shots, but I will here. The story is called Rose Garden. No idea when it's coming, I haven't even started writing, but I know the direction I want to take with it. It's not going to be that long either. That's all! Until next time!
