Misty Williams and Ash Ketchum were the only single ones in their class.

It was odd. Everyone in their class dated but those two.

The whole class shipped them together. They would make the perfect couple in everyone's eyes. Even their families thought so. Yeah, they were pretty canon.

They were the cutest nonexistent couple of Viridian High.

But Misty and Ash were just 'like brother and sister'. They've known each other since they were ten, and they've been close friends ever since. Misty was just like the sister Ash has never had, and he was the brother Misty has never had. They both had no siblings of the opposite sex (Ash had two brothers and she had three sisters), so they discovered a lot of things growing up together.

Everyone presumed they like each other, but Ash and Misty denied it, always.

"She's my sister, come on." He'd say.

"Ash? Ew. He's my brother!" She'd say.

The friendzone was actually confirmed by both, so no one and nothing could change it.

Right?
