Flashback:
Vegas.
Vaish didn't know why she was so careless around this person, about whom she didn't know a thing. Hell she hasn't even seen his face properly. It was dark in the club yet when he offered her his hand, she can't help but take it and the spark that his touch made her feel gave her a green signal.
And so she followed him outside. She wore her coat because of the cold and he also pulled his hoodie so she can't see his face.
They were walking side by side, holding hands like they knew each other from long time while in reality they didn't even knew other person's first name.
It was like an unspoken agreement between them, to just enjoy the night without bothering each other with personal questions. She was out to celebrate her success while he was seeking comfort for his defeat.
The silence between them was anything but awkward but that was not for a long time because soon they reached a place where crowd was gathered.
They were young girls and boys around their age and some of them were smoking and drinking. They were all standing in a circle and in the center some people were doing a dancing face off.
Vaish was sure that this, whatever this thing that was happening; was happening without the permission of local police and she was sure that if cops come to know then these people would have to run like maniacs.
She wasn't sure if she wanted to join this crowd. Every sensible part of her brain was warning her against it. She already has done enough stupidity for the night and she shouldn't do anything more than that.
So she hesitated a bit before walking towards the crowd, that is till she heard those magical words in that deep voice which was filled with carelessness about future and just intended on enjoying the present, "The night is still young, let's enjoy its beauty without any restrictions."
And just like that she forgot her earlier reservations and joined the crowd with him by her side.

"The night is still young, let's enjoy its beauty without any restrictions."
The words so casually said by Abhay created havoc inside Vaish.
Because they sounded familiar, way too familiar; the sheer tone of his voice, the random carelessness yet curiosity got her. It reminded her of Mr. Stranger; for a second she thought she was in Vegas, reliving that night.
She found it difficult to digest that she finally got a flashback of that night in Vegas after months.
How strange destiny is, when she was trying to remember that night she can't recall a single thing and now when she wants to forget everything and enjoy the moment with the man she loves, she is getting a flashback.
She won't live in past neither will she let this one flashback destroy their time.
Thankfully Abhay hasn't noticed her dreadful reaction. He will think that she has gone mad. He must have those words casually. It was just a coincidence.
So she took a deep breath to calm herself before joining Abhay who looked at her intently for a second before asking, "Fireball, Are you alright? You look like you just faced a storm."
His tone was filled with worry but his eyes has curiosity like he was searching for some answer and was satisfied when she saw her flustered face.
Yes, I faced a storm inside.
Vaish thought. Once again she was surprised by how well he knew her. Just when she thought that she fooled him, he read her like an open book. It must be her eyes that gave the clue.
"No, I'm fine. What were you looking at?" She asked in an attempt to change the topic.
"Past." He simply said and Vaish got confused.
"Look at those couple fighting with each other." She saw a young couple fighting with the boy turning his back to the girl. The girl brought an ice cream as a peace offering and stood in front of boy. The Boy accepted it and held his ears to apologise but the girl just shook her head and kissed the boy.
"We were like that only. Fighting for no reasons and most of the time it was me who was wrong yet you never gave up on me."
He said with his tone full of self-hate and Vaish didn't like it a bit. She held his hand and took him to a quiet place. She held his hands and looked in his eyes before saying her next words in a soft yet determined tone.
"Because you are worth it. Every time we fought whether for silly things or seriously, I can't help but come back to you despite all feminism lessons I had. I scolded myself for doing that, even hated myself but there was one thing I can never do, that is, to hate you. And so I'm seriously saying this Abhay, stop condemning yourself for mistake of the past, be it with me or your Aunty or even your parents. I know you are still not over it.
You may not accept it but I saw regret in your eyes when you talked about them. I don't think it is the right emotion to remember them. When you remember them then recall the love they had for each other, for you, the good times you had. They must be proud of you Abhay for standing on your own feet, for establishing your own identity. Your mom loved you Abhay and she would never want her son to do give up his passion for her company. I'm sure your Aunty loves you too and once you talk with her peacefully then you can find your way out.
As for that one mistake with me, you can't change it by reminding yourself of that repeatedly. If you regret it that badly, which I'm sure you do, then make sure that you never repeat it again in future." She completed her long speech and closed her eyes to take a breath for she was scared of Abhay's reaction.
His parents were a sensitive topic for him and she has hit his nerve. His silence for next few seconds just made her fear worst.
As for Abhay he was bowled with her words. She with her understanding and sincerity erased all his fears about past, present and future.
She was so right in guessing that a part of him still blamed himself for his parents death; something which no one guessed till now, mainly because he never talked to anyone about it. But her words gave him the much needed boost for erasing all those doubts, regrets and worries. His parents loved him for who he was and if they were alive today then they must have understood his decision and so will his aunty. He will get her forgiveness, no matter what.
As for company they will find a way, in fact he is seeing a way in front of him.
He looked at her who was standing with her head down, her eyes closed and her fingers crossed. Seeing her standing like that looking so beautiful under moonlight made his heart twist strangely.
He had gone on dates with many girls but no one understood him like her. She understands him without him even speaking. Now he understood how Sanaa and Rehan communicate silently.
She erases all his fears by her words.
She takes away all his sadness with her smile.
She makes his heart do strange things just by being near to him.
She makes him trust in love again with her sincerity.
He once again glanced at her and noticed her fear. He never wanted her to fear him. She is his fireball, one who can burn the world with her fierce attitude and he can never see her vulnerable and so he did the only thing he could do to erase her fears as well as show his feelings.
He grabbed her tightly. She opened her eyes in surprise and he could hear her gasp before his lips connected with her and every damn thing stopped mattering.
His issues, his problems with his aunt, his lies, her fears, her worries about past, Vegas, the drunken marriage. All these things faded in background.
Nothing mattered for both of them because in this moment they had the world in their arms.
For Vaish it was the most breath taking feeling of her life since it was their first kiss after her realisation about loving him and for Abhay it was the first kiss after he freed his soul from all the burdens and worries. For the first time in ages he was feeling free to feel all his emotions. And that was so refreshing.
They came out of their moment and he looked in her eyes and she once again gasped because she could see what she was searching in his eyes from a long time; the same emotions that she had.
She wasn't sure if he realised it or not but he felt the same way about her as she felt about him. She was so happy that she jumped in his arms. The sudden moment took him by surprise and they fell on the ground with Abhay taking the major impact of the fall.
They fell along with each other and then started laughing like crazy maniacs.
"That was awesome." Abhay said after a while and helped her to stand up.
"We are probably the craziest duo in this world. We scold each other, then kiss each other like crazy and then fall back laughing all the while on our first official date." Vaish said feeling at ease.
"Well it's a good start. We can do it on our next dates too." Abhay said and took her hand with him to his car to take her for dinner.
"So where are we going next?" Vaish asked.
"And I'll tell you because?" Abhay teased her.
"Because I'm the most awesome girl in this world and you are feeling privileged for being able to spend some time with me. I'm beauty with brains, a drama queen to give you sass with class and in all a complete package." Vaish said in one breath and Abhay can't help but smile proudly for this was what he wanted in his woman, the ability to give him answer in the same way as him and to be as witty as him.
"We are going for dinner. Since you loved Maya Aunty's cooking she is preparing some of her special dishes for you but we are not going to eat it in her restaurant. The food will be delivered at our secret location which is my favourite place in Mumbai." Abhay explained and Vaish nodded in excitement, waiting eagerly to know about his favourite location.
And she was not disappointed for it was on the top of a building. The arrangements were just perfect. They could see the beautiful lighting of the city and beach on the side. Abhay informed her that the building is owned by his friend and he helped him with the arrangements.
They had their dinner with an easy conversation.
"Where is the dessert, Mr. Singh?" She asked once they finished their dinner.
"Well my dessert is sitting in front of me." Abhay teased her and Vaish turned deep red.
"Abhay! I'm talking about food! I know that you won't forget it since you know that I have got a sweet tooth." Vaish said after overcoming her initial shyness.
"Fireball, I know about an awesome bakery near this place. They have got one of the best baked items you will ever taste. Let's go there." He said in an excited tone and Vaish nodded.
They chose to walk to the bakery since it was nearby. True to Abhay's words the bakery products were really tasty. Vaish loved the choco lava cake and made sure to come back here again in future.
They were walking out of the bakery when they heard a girl's voice, filled with hate, "Well... well... well, isn't it the so called best software developer with his latest arm candy?"
Vaish and Abhay stopped in the track and turned to see a girl around their age, wearing a fancy red dress.
"Excuse me?" Vaish asked but Abhay was quiet because he recognised the woman. She was Rhea Mehta, one of his client's daughter whom he had dated in their past.
Well dating from her side, dinner from his side. He was asked by her father to come to dinner to explain his plan and when he reached restaurant the man was not present, instead his daughter was.
He discussed the plan with her, and paid for the dinner for he didn't like letting a lady pay for their dinner, even if she was his business client's daughter. It was just his basic manners. He didn't know that his small action will give her wrong indications.
She thought he liked her. She was a nice girl but that's all she was, a girl. He needed a woman. She texted him and asked for a date which he politely declined. She didn't understand his refusal and kept on calling him as well as messaging him for next month. Finally, having had enough of her tactics, he informed her father and after that day, no call came.
That was a year ago.
He didn't meet her till now. He knew she must hate him. He didn't care. He was not even interested in her and he didn't want to give her any explanation, because she didn't matter.
He knew a lot of women cursed him, for he refused to date them or refused to commit. He didn't even know where they get this idea from for he clearly said them in the beginning that he isn't looking forward for anything permanent. Besides none of them really loved him for himself, they just liked his outer appearance.
They never tried to know him. No one ever did, not before his Fireball. Which reminded him about her and he looked at her who was giving Rhea a laser sharp look.
"You are excused." Rhea said haughtily.
"Real mature." Vaish replied at her childishness.
"Maturity? It's a big word coming from a girl like you." Rhea spat with anger.
"A girl like me? Do you even know me, my name or anything at all about me?" Vaish asked.
"You standing beside this man, holding his hand, is enough to give me an idea about what kind of woman you are." Rhea said and Abhay thought that it was the right time to intervene as he didn't want anyone to spoil their date.
"Fireball, leave it. She doesn't matter." He said in a serious tone.
Vaish looked in his eyes to see his sincerity before saying, "Let me clear it." Abhay sighed and nodded.
Turning towards Rhea, she said.
"I don't know you or your name but I take it you are acquainted with Abhay. You look like you come from a decent family, so let me give you one advise, never confront someone about whom you don't know anything. You saw me five minutes ago, you don't even know my name and you passed a judgement on me. That was your number one mistake for which I may have forgiven you.
But you did another mistake, which is unforgivable. You said things about Abhay.
What do you know about him, apart from his social media profile? You might have known him in the past but you never truly met him, for anyone meeting him, will never talk about him in this way.
And what did you say... the so called software designer? Well honey, he is the best one in the whole country. I assure you because I myself have interviewed a lot of them.
And arm candy? Seriously! Are you still in your school? Because only school kids use such term these days.
And if you would have known him truly known him then you won't say this thing about him, for there is one thing that Abhay Singh is good at, if not the best, his manners. He will never let a lady feel bad, not under his watch.
Why you may ask? Because he has been born and raised by wonderful women, who have taught him how to treat ladies properly from a young age and these are his good manners only because of which he is standing here quietly when he can shut your mouth within few seconds."
Rhea stood speechless for a second, feeling embarrassed about her behaviour. She knew that he was not the one to be blamed, yet somehow she felt insulted when he turned off her date plan and wanted to take revenge by insulting him publicly. Now, she realized that she was wrong.
She looked up and mumbled a "I am Sorry.", in their direction before running away.
Vaish was taking quiet breaths to calm herself for she knew she said little too much but that girl really got under her skin and she would have let her go if she insulted her in her childish ways but no that girl has to go and insult the love of her life and no one except her can insult her Drama King.
And Abhay was shocked for she defended him without him even explaining his side. Any girl in her situation would have thought that it was an angry ex from the past and would even be mad at him for spoiling their date.
But not his Fireball!
She stood her grounds. She replied Rhea's childishness with her grace. She wasn't angry at Rhea for herself but for him and that shocked the hell out of him, for it was the first time someone did that.
He didn't forget the way she has described his choice of career and his upbringing. He could feel her proud in her tone and his chest filled with warmth, for it was the first time that anyone was proud of him in this way.
And he can't forget her protective stance, fiery eyes and sharp tongue. God! He became her fan in that instant.
Rehan was right; she was more smart then him, better than him.
He has lost this war. She was the one between them who was better. He was Drama King sure but she was truly his Queen who made him better because she herself was the best.
He smiled at his defeat and her victory. He will happily smile at his losses in future too, if those meant her winning.
His smile widened in delight, for he was feeling proud of her, proud of his choice. All the time he was running from commitment and then finally this moment came, where he found himself surrendering to her, to his feelings for her.
All the prayers from his family and friends were answered, in form of her.
And he wasn't sure that any other moment in his life can bestow this one, where he, Abhay Singh, the Drama King, is finally admitting that he loves Vaishali Khanna from his heart and soul.
