Nothing.
She answered but nothing was not what she was feeling.
She was feeling a whole range of emotions but she refused to give up on them and cry like an emotional fool.
She had once done that in her school life and saw her crush laughing on her along with his friends.
With the help of her friends she recovered from that but that small incident had a big impact on her life.
She had promised herself that she will rise so high that no one will be able to look down at her and also she had a keen interest in business since childhood, so it wasn't a tough job.
She never looked at any man with desire and the two times she gave someone a chance; turned out to be horrible.
Once in Vegas; she trusted that Stranger and the result was a drunken marriage.
Second time; Abhay and he snapped at her like she was nothing to him and he was true. She wasn't related to him but that was no way to talk to a lady.
She gathered her things and walked to the lift while engrossed in her thoughts.
She had to take hard decisions now. Some which included putting a distance between him and her.
Thinking all this she sat in the car and asked the driver to take her to home. She did her first aid in the car itself.
One of the perks of having the doctors as friends was that she knew how to do first aid very well. She did that and walked to her apartment carefully.
She was busy relaxing when she started getting calls from event planners for the surprise birthday party of Abhay.
She thought for a moment.
She could behave like a normal woman and cancel the party for the way he behaved. It was a tempting option.
But then she realised the happy times they had and despite of his behaviour earlier she can't bring herself to hate him. There was something about him that didn't allowed her to hate him.
Angry. Yes for he was really rude.
But Hate.
No.
She can't hate Abhay Singh.
She picked up the call with a sigh and started giving instructions to the event planners.
Next and important thing was food. Abhay was a big foodie himself so food has to be the best. She mentally noted all his favourite dishes and called one of the best catering services whose details were given to her by Rehan.
Since Abhay liked the element of mystery she decided the theme to be masquerade.
She finally typed the invitation and sent it to all close friends of Abhay.
All the things of the day finally took a troll on her and she slept like a child but not before thinking about his words which were still echoing in her head.
She messaged her family who has gone for a holiday after Samay's exams got over. She really missed them. She could have called them but knew that her voice would betray her and so she just messaged them like past few days and closed her eyes to go in a dreamless sleep.

Next day she arrived in her office a bit late than usual to avoid him and she was successful for he also kept out of her way.
Every one on the office could sense the change in his mood and she didn't like it.
You don't get to mix your personal and professional life. She was also hurt but that doesn't mean that she will bring it out on her work.
She would have given him a good lesson but left it for two reasons, one he was not in a mood to listen and second it was his birthday.
She wanted to wish him because she could see the lonliness on his face. His anger was a charade to hide his actual emotions.
***
Sadness.
Hurt.
Lonliness.
It was all Abhay was feeling since yesterday. Since he said those vengeful words to her.
He regretted them the moment they came out and wanted to take it back but he knew he can't.
She was hurt and he can't help her. That hurts.
Then you should not have said those words idiot! His subconscious chided ans he shut it not wanting to listen any logiacal explanation.
Added to that he received a single message from his aunt last night.
Happy Birthday Abhay. May God bless you and give you all happiness and success.
~Pooja Aunty.
He tried to call her back but the call was not received. He was relieved though. His aunt remembered his birthday and wished him. That's all that matters.
He knew that yesterday was too much. He should not have taken out his frustration on her. He remembered his words.
I'm not answerable to you and you can't just walk in and demand answers from me!
Damn.
How he wish he could take them back.
He was so wrong for saying those words, for hurting her. He didn't even know what made him say that. He was being insecure about his life and he took out the frustration on her.
He decided to say sorry and clear the things after work hours and if possible try and spend some time with her. It would be a blessing on his birthday. After all she is the one of those few who matters in his life along with his aunt and close friends.
Thinking that he immersed himself in work and waited for the evening.
***
Turned out that she left earlier than usual.
Now why in heavens that happened? May be luck was not on his side today and he was supposed to spend yet another birthday alone.
It has happened in past. He and his aunt used to spend the morning together while having breakfast. Then he used to go to Rehan's house and meet his mother and take blessings from her. Later at night he used to go for a small party with Rehan but today he wanted Vaish to be there with him since he knew Rehan will be having someone by his side.
He too wanted that. Then again he immediately scolded himself for thinking that. He didn't want that. He didn't need it. He didn't want to be in relationship.
Yeah.
That's it.
Final.
But then Vaishali? His brain asked and he just shook his head to avoid the question.
He collected his things and decided to leave for the day.
***
Vaish was running around the place and guiding the people to do the decorations perfectly.
She had catering people on call and the main area decorations were not completed yet.
Rehan was supposed to come earlier but some important meeting came and he apologised. Though he promised to send some help and Vaish really needed that.
She was feeling dizzy for she had skipped her lunch and immediately a glass of water was offered to her. She gulped the contents in one go and looked at the person who offered her water.
She immediately squealed with surprise to see her bestie, Sanaa standing there with a beautiful smile on her face.
"Shenu! I missed you so much!" Caish said and hugged her tightly.
Sanaa returned the gesture but noticed that something was wrong with her friend. She was hugging her too tightly as if looking for comfort. She just rubbed her hand over Vaish's shoulder in a supportive manner.
"Are you alright Vaish?" She asked after a while and Vaish nodded too quickly and Sanaa realised that something was wrong.
She gestured the additional staff she has brought along with her and gave them necessary instructions. Making sure that everything was going alright; she took Vaish's hand and dragged her to talk to her in somewhere private.
"So tell me what happened?" She asked Vaish and Vaish sighed.
"And here I thought that I fooled you." Vaish thought ans chuckled dryly.
"Best friends can always understand each other. You understood it whenever I had any problem in past and so can I. So now answer my question." Samaa said in a firm yet gentle manner.
"Nothing much. Its just that things are taking a troll on me. Everything and everyone is becoming so confusing. May be the fact that I'm away from home for the first time and don't have personal contact with humans daily is making me fussy. I don't even know where my emotions are going.
I'm confused about my feelings. I don't know whether to accept them or deny them. If the other person is even feeling a bit like I'm feeling or is it a one sided thing. Am I overthinking or overreacting? Is it normal for guys to talk to someone so closely and then pretend like it's nothing. No not pretend but actually say that its nothing.
That it doesn't matter? Like what the hell was that between us then? Were we fooling around or was I the only fool in equation! I just don't know." Vaish finally opened her heart and Sanaa closed her eyes feeling the pain for her friend.
"I don't know what happened that made you think like that but Vaish it's true that we girls are more sensitive than boys. Sometimes we take things too seriously. Sometimes it might be a fun for the other person but it's a lot for us.
When a girl opens up she puts all her feelings in it. She doesn't expect anything except a little respect, and love and when given those she will be then she will be loyal always.
I'm not saying that boys are insensitive jerks; for my man is the biggest example of how protective, caring and loving a man could be." Sanaa said and smiled remembering Rehan.
"So whatever or whoever made you think like that is either confused or an absolute idiot for not realising what he is losing by making you feel like that.
And one more thing Vaish, an important lesson that I learnt from Kabir early in my life. Never give someone the power destroy you. People will make you doubt yourself but don't listen to them. Listen to your inner voice.
This advice proved to be useful when I was in Sydney and still is when I meet new people." Sanaa said.
"Rehan?" Vaish asked quietly. Sanaa looked up at her confused.
"What about him?" She asked.
"Did your advice helped you with Rehan?" Vaish asked while closing her eyes and preparing herself for an answer and Sanaa's eyes opened wide in realisation.
Her best friend, Vaishali Khanna the Drama Queen was asking this question and she didn't knew how to help her friend for; how can you help someone who has fallen in love!
***
Hmm... how to save someone who has already fallen?
What do you think will he Vaish and Abhay's fate?
Vaish's conversation to her bestie is something every girl goes through in her life! Know it girls that you are stronger than you believe and smarter than yoy realise.
And no offence to boys! Just that I am a girl so I can relate to them better!
Anyways, the conflicting thoughts of our main leads are taking a troll on their relationship or lack of one!
Lets see what happens!
Ps: Dont you think that everyone needs friendship like Sanaa and Vaishali in their life?
