In the dimly lit classroom, shadows danced across the walls as Yon broke the silence with a determined voice, "I think we should try-" His words hung in the air, heavy with uncertainty.

"- to get out of this school as the first step," he continued, his gaze sweeping over the faces of his companions, searching for signs of agreement amidst the fear.

"But they are everywhere," Eugene's voice quivered, his eyes darting nervously around the room, as if expecting one of the creatures to materialize out of the darkness at any moment.

"I know," Yon replied calmly, his voice a beacon of reassurance in the midst of chaos. "But there might be other survivors out there. We need all the help we can get right now."

"How are we going to pass through all of those... things..." Eugene's question hung in the air, a testament to the overwhelming odds they faced.

"We are seven people," Yon began, his voice steady as he outlined their plan. "Each of us has a skill unique to us. Let's get to it."

With a sense of resolve, each member of the group introduced themselves and their abilities.

"I am Yon," he announced, his posture straightening with pride. "And I am an acrobat."

Jay stepped forward next, his voice filled with determination. "I'm Jay. Specialty... uh... hockey."

"Mina," she said confidently, her eyes alight with determination. "Disc throw."

"Eugene," he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. "Figure skater..."

"Charyeong," she declared, her voice strong and unwavering. "Throwball."

"Ji-hoon," he announced, his stance poised and confident. "Fencing."

They turned to face Minyoung, awaiting her contribution to the group.

"Nothing," she said nonchalantly, her words hanging in the air like a weight.

There was a moment of uncertainty as the group processed her admission, but Yon quickly stepped in to quell any doubts.

"Okay," he said, his voice firm. "With that, we know we are a strong team. Let's leave at midnight."

The room fell silent once more, the weight of their mission settling upon their shoulders.

The school building stood tall and imposing under the cover of the darkened sky, its windows reflecting the eerie glow of the moon. Outside, the creatures roamed the grounds, their ominous silhouettes casting a sense of foreboding over the scene. Yohan gazed out of the window of the classroom, his expression a mixture of fear and determination as he took in the sight.

"It's nice," a voice broke through his thoughts, drawing his attention away from the chaos outside. He turned to see Song Yunha standing nearby, her presence a small comfort amidst the turmoil.

Song Yunha was a slender girl with dark hair that cascaded down her shoulders in loose waves. Her eyes held a quiet strength, betraying none of the fear that lingered in the air.

"It's nice?" Yohan echoed, his brow furrowing in confusion at her unexpected remark.

"It's nice that we are alive," Yunha clarified, her voice calm and steady despite the uncertainty that surrounded them.

Yohan's gaze softened as he considered her words, the weight of their survival settling heavily upon his shoulders. "What about those who didn't survive?" he asked, his voice laced with sorrow.

"I don't know. What about them?" Yunha replied, her tone gentle yet resolute.

"You don't feel animosity?" Yohan pressed, his voice tinged with disbelief.

"I am not the one who caused this uproar," Yunha stated simply, her gaze unwavering as she met his eyes.

"Even if you aren't..." Yohan trailed off, his thoughts drifting to the countless lives lost in the chaos that had consumed their world.

Before the conversation could delve any deeper, their attention was diverted by the arrival of Zera Park, her presence a welcome distraction from the weight of their discussion.

Zera Park was a petite girl with fiery red hair that framed her face in unruly curls. Despite the gravity of their situation, there was a mischievous glint in her eyes as she addressed the group.

"Guys, Hailey's calling for dinner," Zera announced, her voice cutting through the tension that hung in the air.

"What do we have today?" Yunha inquired, her tone tinged with disappointment.

"Gimbap," Hailey replied, her voice muffled slightly as she entered the room, a tray of food in hand.

"Again? No!" Yunha exclaimed, her frustration evident as she slouched against the nearest desk.

"We can't afford 'food' in a classroom stained in creature blood and screams," Hailey retorted, her tone tinged with bitterness as she set the tray down on a nearby table.

Yohan turned to Hailey, curiosity piqued by her mention of the canteen. "What did you find out there?" he asked, his gaze lingering on her expectantly.

"It's empty. For some reason, it's always quiet at night," Hailey replied, her words heavy with implication as she glanced towards the window, where the creatures still lurked in the darkness beyond.

[Location: unknown manor, Seoul, South Korea.
Eunhye, Sae Joon Hyun, Jaeyeon, Yuri (the four) and In-Ha]

In the dimly illuminated room, they stood transfixed by the sight unfolding before them. No longer the menacing creatures they once were, the beings now huddled in a corner, their movements feeble and erratic. Sae Joon Hyun couldn't help but voice the bewildering observation that had captured their collective attention.

"They aren't attacking, they aren't groaning, and neither do they look... scary... anymore," he murmured to himself, his eyes fixed on the creatures.

Eunhye, sensing a shift in the atmosphere, approached Sae Joon Hyun and whispered softly, "They look... scared." Her words hung in the air, echoing the eerie stillness that enveloped the room.

Sae Joon Hyun turned to look at her, a mixture of curiosity and concern etched on his features. Eunhye nodded in confirmation, her eyes wide with realization.

"I mean... I am not complaining but..." Jaeyeon began, his voice trailing off as he struggled to articulate the unsettling feeling that gripped them all. "..why does it feel the other way around. Like we are the creatures..."

In-Ha, ever the analytical mind, began scribbling furiously in her notebook, her focus unwavering as she delved into the mystery before them. Yuri, curious about In-Ha's findings, leaned over her shoulder to catch a glimpse of her notes.

"Did you figure something out, Miss In-Ha?" Yuri inquired, her voice tinged with anticipation.

Focused on her work, In-Ha barely registered Yuri's question as she continued to jot down her observations, her mind racing with possibilities.

Yuri quietly stepped back, her gaze shifting towards Eunhye, who seemed lost in thought.

"What do you think?" Yuri asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"In movies, they usually show some weakness. Maybe they can't attack in the dark?" Eunhye suggested, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

"What about climatic conditions?" Jaeyeon interjected, his mind spinning with theories.

"It could also be... the constituents of the atmosphere..." Sae Joon Hyun mused, his thoughts aligning with Jaeyeon's observation.

"Yes," In-Ha finally turned towards them, her gaze intense as she addressed the group from her swiveling chair. She tapped her pencil on the table, her eyes flickering towards the creatures huddled in the corner.

"What affects them," she began, her voice commanding attention, "is the constituents. That being said, these creatures... If you see carefully, their skin looks bulged from certain portions. It is owing to the swollen blood vessels."

Sae Joon Hyun's eyes widened in realization as he connected the dots. "Then that means..."

"Yes," In-Ha confirmed, her tone resolute. "They need nitrogen to live. I'm not sure how they made it, but the virus that has affected them is a variant that needs nitrogen to function. At room temperature, nitrogen is less reactive, so they won't harm us here. And nights are cold, making nitrogen less active... again."

"During the day, it is more reactive because days are warmer than nights. It helps them move quicker. And since nitrogen increases inflammation of airways in our lungs, they make those weird noises," Sae Joon Hyun added, his voice filled with newfound understanding.

"If you put it that way, they are actually suffering a lot," Eunhye concluded, her empathy shining through her words.

"I wasn't able to exactly make out what this virus is, but I can tell it was made to enhance human abilities, and I think the process went wrong somewhere, and this was the result," In-Ha continued, her mind racing with possibilities.

"The most effective way of infusing the virus is physical contact, and hence they scratch or bite to direct the virus into the victim's bodies," In-Ha explained, her words carrying weight as the group absorbed the gravity of her revelation.

"But why are they infusing it in the first place? It's clearly not world domination by grave-ups, is it now?" Jaeyeon questioned, his voice tinged with skepticism.

"Yes. It's not that. The virus wants to divide itself. The process failed, so instead of enhancing human abilities, the virus evolved, and humans are merely hosts," In-Ha clarified, her tone somber as she spoke of the grim reality they faced.

"So basically, they are controlled by some virus and can't harm at night or at room temperature," Yuri concluded, her gaze fixed on the creatures cowering in the corner of the room. They nodded in silent agreement, the weight of their newfound knowledge settling heavily upon their shoulders as they grappled with the implications of their discovery.

[Location: unknown meat shop. Seoul, South Korea.
Minji and Young.]

In the unlit meat shop, Minji and Young sought refuge from the chaos that raged outside. The putrid stench of rotting meat and stale, gooey drinks assaulted their senses, causing Minji to curl up in her blanket in disgust.

"This is so irritating," Minji muttered, her voice muffled by the thick fabric as she buried herself deeper into her makeshift cocoon.

Young glanced around the cramped space, his expression a mixture of resignation and revulsion. "I mean, at least we have food," he remarked, his gaze lingering on the shelves stocked with frozen meat.

Minji's frustration boiled over as she tossed her gun and gloves onto the blood-stained floor, the sound of the metal hitting the tiles echoing through the empty shop like a sharp slap. With a sigh, she began piling blankets onto the floor, creating a makeshift bed in the midst of the chaos.

The sound of the sheets meeting the tiles made Young flinch, prompting him to retreat to the relative safety of the only proper shelf in the room. He curled up against it, his eyes darting nervously around the room as Minji continued her frenzied preparations.

"Ugh... sleeping surrounded by meat. Do you even know how this feels?" Minji exclaimed, her frustration palpable as she turned her back to Young and closed her eyes in a futile attempt to find solace in sleep.

The air hung heavy with tension as Minji and Young grappled with the harsh reality of their situation. Despite their efforts to find refuge in the meat shop, the ever-present threat of the creatures loomed large, a constant reminder of the danger that lurked just beyond the walls.

[Location: Seoul main streets, South Korea.
Midnight.]

Clad in their blood stained, disheveled school uniforms, the group of survivors stealthily navigated the desolate streets outside their school, their movements cautious and deliberate. With every step, they remained acutely aware of the lurking danger that surrounded them.

As they entered the main market streets, the eerie silence of the night enveloped them, broken only by the faint sound of their own breaths. Without hesitation, they dropped to all fours, their movements fluid yet deliberate as they sought to minimize their presence in the desolate landscape.

Reaching a turn in the road, they paused, their senses on high alert as they waited for someone to take the lead. It was Yon who finally broke the silence, his voice a hushed whisper as he directed their next move.

"We will take left from here," he murmured, his words barely audible over the deafening silence. With a gentle push, he urged Eugene to take the lead, positioning himself behind him, with Ji-hoon bringing up the rear. Together, they moved forward, their movements swift and calculated as they sought refuge before the impending dawn.

Suddenly, Eugene came to an abrupt stop, causing Yon and the others to halt in their tracks. Confusion rippled through the group as they tried to make sense of the unexpected pause.

"What's going on?" Mina asked, her voice tinged with apprehension as she rubbed her forehead in confusion. Charyeong, positioned behind her, could only shrug in response, her own gaze fixed ahead.

Eugene squinted ahead, his eyes narrowing as he took in the horrifying sight before them. Dark silhouettes littered the empty road, their twisted forms sprawled on their backs, limbs contorted at unnatural angles. Dried blood stained their mouths, thick saliva drooling from the broken edges, while cloudy eyes stared blankly at the sky.

It was a scene straight from a nightmare, one that sent shivers down their spines and filled their hearts with dread. Without hesitation, Eugene scrambled back, seeking refuge behind the nearest building, with Yon and the others quick to follow suit.

Charyeong attempted to voice her disbelief, only to be silenced by Jay, his words a solemn reminder of their precarious situation. With a shared nod, they resolved to stay quiet, their survival instincts kicking into high gear.

Realizing the need for reconnaissance, Mina glanced around the group, her gaze settling on Eugene as the most likely candidate. "The one person who can get past them and check is," As their eyes met his, Eugene recoiled, his fear palpable.

He pleaded with them not to send him into the unknown. "No..please don't send me there."

Yon, ever the leader, stepped forward, offering his support to Eugene in their time of need. "I'll come with," With a reassuring nod and holding Eugene's hands in his own, he offered to accompany him on the daunting task ahead

Charyeong, wiping sweat from her brow, offered words of encouragement to Eugene, recognizing his unique talents and abilities. " You are an amazing person. And pretty talented too. Your abilities will save us Eugene so please.."

With a gentle nudge from Yon, Eugene summoned the courage to face the challenge ahead, although shaking behind the mask of courage as he exhaled deeply.
