Story Time
"I want to see Phil first." Dan demanded softly with a tinge of hesitation.
"Dan-"
"Let me see him...please." Dan interrupted pleadingly, looking up at PJ with his sorrowful dark brown eyes.
PJ sighed before nodding, taking them down a hallway that led into another room that was slightly smaller with light gray walls and flooring.
Clear tubes were lined up against the wall, all of them filled with mint green scaly creatures with three closed eyes except the one at the end of the row.
Phil.
Dan swallowed hard as he walked over to his best friend's corpse, kneeling down by in front of him and running a hand down the glass as he bowed his head and began crying again.
"I-I'm so sorry I f-failed you." Dan sniffled, wiping away his tears with the back of his hand as he stood up.
Everyone took turns saying their private goodbyes before they left, Dan pausing once everyone was gone and out of earshot.
"I loved you."
With that, he turned in his heel and walked off at a brisk pace to catch up with the others and try to stop the tears welling in is eyes again.
"Now, let's go on a walk." PJ decided, motioning for the six to follow him.
He walked outside towards this green house like building made of the same clear material the hospital room wall used, allowing them to se the vibrantly colored plants inside.
"You don't have to have a helmet by the way, the air here is almost exactly like Earth's." PJ assured his friends, noticing that their helmets were on.
They hesitantly took them off and kept them tucked under their arms as they followed him inside.
"So to start with the fact that you guys aren't the first group of YouTubers sent to space. Danny Sexbang, Arin, DanTDM, Rhett and Link, as well as myself, were sent on the same mission you guys are on now." PJ began, sitting down on a bench while the others stood in front of him.
"Where are they now?" Sean interjected hopefully.
"I'll get there." PJ promised with a patient smile.
"Our rocket landed here directly in the middle of the Mineral War between the Malums and the Nidirians, although we didn't know until it was too late." PJ continued, his expression darkening slightly.
"As soon as we got out of the ship, we were made prisoners by the Nidirians since they weren't sure if we were spies or not. Our ship got blown up behind us to prevent our escape as we were taken to their holding cells, destroying our only chance of leaving."
"Why didn't you contact Earth and tell them something?" Mark interrupted with a frown.
"I couldn't, the Nidirians still don't trust me or the other members of my crew even though we've been stranded here for about four standard Earth years." PJ explained.
"How did you get out?" Ethan chimed in, enraptured by the story.
"There was riot where the prisoners the Nidirians had taken escaped, releasing us in the process...Dan wasn't as lucky. The guards shot him in the since he was running towards them to rescue me from getting hit." PJ sighed, sadness glimmering in his eyes as he looked down at the floor for a brief moment to regain his composure.
"After all that, we were interrogated by the king Zion and allowed to live here under one condition. We are not allowed to leave unless we wish to be killed. We knew the consequences, but Rhett and Link were desperate." PJ paused to take a deep breath, squeezing his hands tightly in his lap.
"They stole one of the Nidirian ships like the one I took to find you guys and started to take off, but they were shot down before they could even leave the atmosphere. Since then, Danny, Arin, and I promised to never leave." PJ finished.
"Where is all of the Nidirians anyway?" Robin spoke up.
"I told them to stay out of our way for a bit so you all could adjust easier." PJ stated.
"So Micheal sent you guys here a year before we started training?" Dan spoke up.
"Yep, but he kept our little expedition under wraps when it failed so he could have an excuse to make another one and hope it goes better." PJ nodded.
"Why YouTubers?" Mark frowned.
"Because they see no point in us anymore. With YouTube gone, we've become irrelevant." PJ sighed in mild irritation.
"Woah." Sean breathed in awe, absorbing in all of the new information as he looked around at the vibrantly colored plants and insects.
There was a long six winged butterfly creature that landed on Dan's head, causing him to freeze in panic.
"You're fine, it's just a hexbug." PJ assured him with a small smile in amusement.
"I'll take you all to your rooms, you guys will meet the king tomorrow." PJ added, motioning for them to follow him out.
They walked out of the greenhouse across the rocky horizon back towards the hospital wing they had left from, going inside a dome next to it.
The room was outfitted with plush king size beds for each YouTuber, bathroom equipped with hot tub like baths, a closet filled with blue and silver clothing, as well as a kitchen with a fridge and oven stocked with human food much to their relief.
The see through ceiling allowed the stars to illuminate their surroundings and guide them to their beds.
"Get good sleep everyone, tomorrow will be a long day for you all." PJ winked before he walked off to his own room not far from theirs.
"How is there normal food here?" Sean wondered aloud as he reached into the fridge and pulled out a slice of Hawaiian pizza, eying it suspiciously.
"PJ probably taught them how to make human food for him or something." Mark yawned as he flopped into his own bed, looking up at the stars.
"Goodnight guys!" Felix called out as he sank down into his own bed and cocooned himself in the millions of blankets on top of him.
"Goodnight!" Sean yelled back.
"Night." Robin mumbled sleepily.
"You too." Dan replied before he flung the covers over his head.
"Sleep well." Mark chimed in groggily.
Ethan didn't reply since he was already asleep, parts of his hair visible from underneath the covers.
"Sleep well too Phil, wherever you are....I hope you're happy." Dan whispered to the stars, wondering if one of the stars shining down on him was Phil as he drifted to sleep.
