Found

Robin woke up after what felt like only a couple of hours of sleep to the sound of the ship console beeping loudly and incessantly.

Robin groaned softly as he freed himself from his bed and pushed off of the mattress to fly over to the console to silence it.

"The hell?" Robin whispered in confusion as he read the results appearing on the screen from his earlier scan for life, surprised to already find a planet nearby.

"Guys, I found something!" Robin yelled to the others over his shoulder as he pushed away from the console to look out the window.

"What?" Felix mumbled blearily as he joined Robin at the window, becoming instantly alert when he saw the large lavender planet with white clouds spiraling around it in close proximity of the ship.

"Oh that's so cool." Mark whispered in awe as he watched the planet steadily grow closer to them.

Everything looked so beautiful.

Until they got too close.

Ships were firing blue and red lasers at each other around the planet, some ships exploding into balls of fire much to the crew's horror.

Some ships were jet shaped and silver lined with blue that had holographic screens like the ones the crew had in their helmets, while others were red accented with blood red that had the same shape, only much bigger.

"We need to get the hell out of here now!" Felix declared as he moved over to the console.

Just as the ship started to retreat from the battle, a stray shot hit one of their engines and damaged their autopilot control, as well as knocked out their communications with Micheal.

"Damnit!" Felix cursed as he smacked the console in frustration, flashing red lights flashing and alarms blaring around him.

"Move over, I know how to fly this." Mark told Felix, buckling into Felix's seat while the others found their own seat.

"Everyone hold on, this is gonna he one hell of a ride!" Mark exclaimed as the ship did a barrel roll to avoid another hit before taking off away from the battle.

"They're following us!" Ethan cried frantically, glancing out the window to see a blank with red ship peel away from formation towards them.

"What about the engine?!" Phil spoke up worriedly.

"I can't fix that and fly!" Mark pointed out as a red laser breezed by the window.

"How many engines do we have?" Felix interjected.

"We have four thrusters, well right now we have three." Mark stated as the ship did a dive to avoid more shots.

"Do we have any on board weapons we can use?!" Felix shouted over at Sean.

"The only things we have are the propulsion guys and a couple of laser guns, but nothing equipped for shooting down a ship!" Sean answered, griping his arm rest tightly.

Dan remained silent as he curled in on himself, panicking as everyone shouted over the loud explosions echoing around them.

Phil noticed Dan and unbuckled from his seat to go over to him, a reassuring smile in his face despite the own suffocating fear he was feeling.

He was almost to Dan when a shot burst through the window, causing everything not strapped down to get sucked out into space.

Including Phil.

"NO!" Dan screamed as he reached for him, chocolate brown eyes wide in shock and fear as he watched his best friend get torn away from him.

"Masks on!" Felix directed, activating his quickly.

"What happened?!" Mark demanded worriedly, unable to glance back and see what happened.

"We need to go back, Phil got sucked out!" Dan demanded impatiently.

"I don't think I can get back there without taking another hit from this asshole, I can't shake them off!" Mark replied.

"Then I'll go." Dan announced firmly.

"There's no way in hell that I'm letting you go out there!" Felix snapped at him.

"I can't leave him behind, I won't!" Dan protested fiercely, tears glittering in his eyes.

There was a moment of silence as Felix contemplated what to do, all sound gone in the vacuum of space.

"Robin, go get a tether for him and for the love of God be careful." Felix sighed reluctantly.

Robin nodded and managed to float to the back of the ship by holding onto the hands of the others to keep him somewhat grounded.

He returned with a long, thick metal cable that he held one end of and tossed the other towards Dan.

Dan took it and tied it securely around his waist before going through the hole where the window was, Mark whipping the ship around to go find Phil.

Dan could see Phil's body floating around a sea of crates, his rainbow accents shining bright in the darkness of space.

The ship steered closer to the Brits to make it easier for them to board, the enemy continuing to fire at the ship relentlessly.

Just as Dan took his hand, another shot slammed into the ship, causing it to rock violently and make Robin almost drop the cable.

Dan grunted as he was pulled in by Robin with the help of Sean and Felix, holding Phil's unconscious body close to him.

"I've got you." Dan whispered reassuringly into his ear, swallowing hard to fight off the wave of tears threatening to spill from his eyes.

"Guys hurry up, I can't sit in the open like this!" Mark told them through gritted teeth, his face a mask of concentration.

"Go go go!" Felix barked once Dan and Phil were inside.

Mark sped off without hesitation, trying to control the ship the best he could with only two engines functioning.

Robin found sheets of spare metal in storage and borrowed Mark's tools to weld them in place to prevent them from losing more supplies, Sean going with Dan to the med bay.

"It's all my fault, he nearly died because of me!" Dan sobbed, tears streaming down his face.

"He'll be okay, I know it." Sean promised him as he searched for an oxygen mask.

Dan never left Phil's side as Sean slipped the oxygen mask over his face, breathing out a sigh of relief when he saw it fog up with each exhale of breath.

"Mark, how're you holding up?" Felix asked the pilot.

"Doing just great, I love being shot at." Mark muttered sarcastically, wincing as the ship took another hit that made it dangerously shudder.

"The ship is sealed again!" Robin informed the others proudly.

"Good, now-"

Felix broke off as another engine went out, causing the ship to behind to tip precariously towards the planet below.

"Buckle up, we're going down!" Mark shouted in a commanding tone laced with fear as the ship began to nose dive towards the planet's surface like a meteor.

"Isn't there anything you can do?!" Felix pleaded Mark desperately.

"I...I have an idea." Mark admitted hesitantly as he pushed himself away from the controls, grabbing his tools from where Robin had left them on the floor.

"What are you doing?" Felix asked.

"Keep everyone else safe and tell Any I'm sorry for everything." Mark instructed him softly before he exited the rocket though the hatch on the side.

"Mark get back here!" Felix demanded his friend through the comms in their helmets.

"No can do, I have to do something." Mark replied before cutting off communications much to Felix's annoyance.

"What the fuck are we supposed to do?!" Ethan shouted frantically, running a hand through his hair in exasperation.

"I don't know, but I guess Mark has an idea." Felix sighed wearily, regretting ever wanting to lead the expedition.

The ship continued throttling towards the planet while Mark worked on repairing an engine to give them just enough power to keep from exploding on impact, lasers firing around him as he tried to focus on his work.

Felix was snapped out of his thoughts when the alarms abruptly stopped blaring in his ears and the lights quit flashing, setting him on edge.

He breathed out a large sigh of relief when he saw Mark enter once again, but he noticed something was different with him.

"What happened out there?" Felix asked him warily.

"It's nothing, I'm fine." Mark assured him.

"Just stop trying to be a fucking hero for once, you're important too!" Felix snapped furiously, causing Mark to flinch slightly.

"I-"

He broke off when he saw how close the planet's surface was, his eyes wide as he darted back to the controls and fiddled with the thrusters.

Felix heard another engine kick back online with the first one as Mark attempted to slow their descent, pulling up as hard as he could on the controls.

"We're going to fucking die!" Dan screamed as he held onto Phil with all of his might, afraid to lose him again.

Everyone was screaming as the ship broke through the atmosphere of white fluffy clouds, the unforgiving, purple rocky ground waiting for them.

The ship slammed into the ground and slid across the planet's surface, smashing through various plants and sending other wildlife scampering away.

Felix felt his head slam against the back of his seat with enough force to daze him, his vision fading in and out as the ship gradually began to slow to a halt.

The ship stopped just in time at the edge of a wide canyon, the front half of the ship precariously teetering over the edge.

Just before they all passed out, they could see a blue ship lined with silver land next to him and a figure exit the spacecraft before darkness encompassed the crew.
