A loud screeching sound of a siren pierced through the vivacious town. Dragons had rushed out of their homes, their eyes wide in horror as they gaped at a wildfire spreading around the place. Dragonets were carried away by their mothers and fathers. Some dragons flew to the skies, hoping to get farther from the fire, while others stayed lower to the ground to avoid the smoke. Houses were burnt to ashes, with residents trapped in some. The fire was brutal, and despite most dragons' fireproof scales, many died in the smoke. One could see the town disappear before their own eyes, knowing that there was nothing they could have done to save it. The lively and bustling city turned into a chaotic mess in seconds. It was a tragedy that hadn't happened in years.

"Spike! Over here!" A hoarse female voice could be heard through the smoke. She seemed worried as she was looking for someone. "I can't! I'm trapped here" A raspy voice of a young dragonet replied to the cries. Spike was beyond exhausted, trapped inside his home alongside his mother and his three siblings. The building was more of a ruin at this point. Most of the furniture was already scorched away, and the walls looked like they would soon colapse under the pressure.

A silouette of a small group of dragonets clustered together, separated from their brother could be seen. They were recklessly trying to escape the building. It was almost impossible to keep your eyes open, as the smoke made one's eyes hurt. You almost couldn't even move a bit, let alone take a step forward.

"Mom! The fire is comming closer to me!" Spike coughed out, calling for help. One of the other dragonets couldn't dare to resist his cries, and rushed out towards him through the fire. He was swiftly avoiding most of the flames, but from time to time he would run into some and growl from pain.
"Quick! What do you think you're doing!", the mother yelled in between her coughs. Yet the young dragonet didn't listen. He was too focused on saving his brother.

"Here, do you see this window? We can jump through it" Quick pointed his claws at a cracked window, barricaded behind a wall of blazing fire.
"We can't go through there! We will burn ourselves. It still hurts despite our fireproof scales!" Spike insisted they'd find another way out.
"I'll go first, you follow me. Please, Spike!" Quick demanded his own, hoping to get his brother out of the wrecks. Spike lightly nodded, mostly from his surrender than from comprehension. The fire was too much for anyone to bear.

Quick lead the way out of the blaze. He leaped around a couch, avoiding the flames next to it. The ceilling was cracked and was soon to fall appart. The dragons would need to hurry, or they would get forever burried under its debris. The purpleish grey dragonet finally reached the window, just to look outside and see the township covered in even more flames.

The ceilling suddenly split, and fell down onto the ground. In one last attempt, Quick sprang though the window and landed outside. He glanced back at the house. There was no sight of his brother whatsoever. Quick's heart sunk as he thought of the worst. Was his brother squashed by the falling debris?
"Spike? Spike!" He yelped out in struggle. The smoke was too heavy for him to properly breathe. He lowered his head to the ground, and tried to scurry away as fast at it was possible. His thoughts solely aimed at surviving, yet still in shock from his brother's disappearance.

Flames and chunks of ruins were slowing his progress down. He wasnted to give up, lay down and let the fire take him, yet he continued to press on. This wouldn't be the end now, would it?

He made his way through the city. The only audible sound was the crackling of the fire, and ocassional screams for help that would give anyone shivers down their spines.
As Quick went on, the flames began to step away, though the smoke remained thick.

After a while, the young dragonet was far from the wildfire, but still not safe. The smoke has caused a lot of harm, and the guilt of his sibling's supposed death wouldn't go away for a long time. This was a terrible disaster that one would never want to experience.
