Canada Vacation Day 1: Montreal, Quebec

Besides being in Hamilton throughout my life (and the Waterloo area where Blackberry headquarters are located), I've never been to other places in Canada. So my mom planned a trip to Montreal.

If you didn't know, Quebec is the province full of French. You can manage to live in the place by only speaking English, but it's nice to have some skills.

Also it's way better than NYC by a milestone. There isn't a place where fake Sesame Street mascots and swindlers appear at all.

I knew about Otakuthon before going to Montreal, but I'm not paying $55 for just one day! And on August 3 the singer from Kobayashi's Maid Dragon (fhana) appears! I'll probably go to a convention during my adulthood.

The first thing we did was go to Underground City, which was a mall underground. Honestly, I only went there just because I wanted to check it out.

I got this in the underground. It's bad when you can't speak Viet but it's even worse when that person can also speak French as well. Taro bubble tea is my usual favorite.

I need to learn Viet more XD

There's Chinatown.

Went to a ramen restaurant where I tried Takoyaki for the first time.

Ghost fans should know who this guy is.

Honestly, the dough is too much for me. Also they didn't serve with the usual toothpicks, which was weird. But they did have the dried fish flakes.

And I ate ramen.

accidentally took pictures in an anime store where you're not allowed to take pictures.

I was shocked when I saw Love Live figures in the store.

Especially the one where Maki was wearing a bikini. I almost fanboyed out.

There were the two pictures I only took at the store. Thankfully, I didn't get caught XD

I went to another store and found Ultraman stickers and figures. I was surprised that there was a normal version of Belial there. Shocking. Plus DBZ figs including complete Ultra Instinct Goku, but his eyes were a bit derpy.

Oh yeah anime buttons. Fucking Love Live appeared again in my eyes, and the Nozomi one peaked my interest.

I didn't buy it.

The store also had gundams (there's actually a model kit store in Montreal that deals with Gundams and Frame Arms and all other stuff) but only for display. Kinda made me sad because there was an RX-78-2 box visible outside.

Found this at a souvenir shop in Chinatown. I got it because I like Sailor Moon and cubing. My sister mixed it up and it messed up the face directions. Fortunately, I fixed it through dissasembly.

Another shop had these anime playing cards.

AND LOVE LIVE BAGS!!!! It was like the third time seeing something Love Live! I forgot to take a picture of them because it was at the time that we were leaving the store.

I also went to a gay village. Yep.

This one's my favorite aesthetic.

There was this place called Kame Hame Ha...

Where it sold Ice Cream on Taiyaki. YUMMMMMMMMM

I ate at a Poutine restaurant for dinner. It was yum. It's called La Banquise.

Before I end this, remember when I found out love live buttons and didn't buy one?

I decided to do it, in the end. I'm a Honoka according to some Buzzfeed article. Does that mean I'm a leader?

Oh yeah the shower was weird because you had to ignore the middle knob and turn the right knob to the left to make it colder.

Yeah. Really weird.

Also the fan and lights are activated under one switch, which annoyed me because the fan was super loud.

Be prepared for the rest of Montreal and the beginning of Ottawa!

This was at the gay village. Hey, at least they're mannequins and not Gachimuchi people!
