"Wait, so that's x and that's y? I don't get it, Wise Girl."
Annabeth groaned. "Really Percy! It's not that hard! The answer's four!"
Percy happily wrote that down.
Not long afterword Percy looked up from his work again. "Annabeth?"
"Yes?"
"Why did this guy just buy the red toffee? There were five blue ones there too! And, according to my calculations, twenty red ones would only cover half of the given area!"
Annabeth raised an eyebrow at him.
"Hey Annie?" Percy asked a few minutes later.
"What?" Annabeth asked.
"This question is saying that Jason bought 29 buckets of paint."
Annabeth glared at Percy from the top of her book.
Percy bowed his head ashamedly like a little boy. He looked up at her with those cute baby seal eyes.
Annabeth took in a deep breath. "Okay." She said. "Let's make a deal. I'll give you a kiss every time you get an answer right."
Percy sat up quickly and gazed intently at his work, his eye brows scrunching up in concentration.
Annabeth laughed and moved to his side, casting away her book.
"Is that one 125x?" Percy asked.
"Yes." Annabeth said.
Percy grinned at her triumphantly, waiting for his reward.
When Sally came back home, she found the couple cuddled up in front of the television, a bowl of blue popcorn on their laps and an architectural film playing in front of them. She figured that the Annabeth had won the brief argument of which movie they'd be watching, but the popcorn was definitely Percy's idea.
They were curled up under a comfy blanket with pillows surrounding them. Annabeth's head was feasting on Percy chest and her eyes were soaking up all the information from the documentary.
Percy looked as if had given up all hope of ever understanding what the film was about and had resorted to staring at Annabeth. He was unconsciously twirling a strand of blonde hair between his fingers.
Sally quietly crept up to the desk the two had been working at earlier and opened up her son's maths homework. Every single answer was written there neatly and they were all correct.
Sally smiled to herself, took another long glance at her son and possibly-soon-to-be-daughter-in-law and left the room quietly, shaking her head at the mere wonders of love.
