19-- Emily Blofis
A/N whoa three chapter in one day.... I'm on roll :D))))
Emily really didn't want to spend her weekend at the Blofis - Jackson household. She was sure that they would be just as boring as her other relatives. Her uncle Paul was pretty cool but now that he was married to someone, who knew how much he had changed?
Besides, she had more important things to do. Namely, reading.
She completely tuned out of her parents conversation and kept reading her Harry Potter book. Her friend had only introduced her to it last month and already she was obsessed. She felt this unnatural desire to rip that Bellatrix person into shreds and she could've sworn that she had heard a voice in her ears saying, "Welcome to the fandom" when she flipped open the first page.
Huh. Must be one of the dilemmas of loosing her life to books.
Emily caught grasp of somethings her parents were talking about- someone called Percy (must've been an old grandpa with a stupid sense of humour) -but she didn't really care about it at all.
So when the car screeched to a halt in front of an apartment, the thirteen year old got off dismissively and followed her parents up the stairs.
She really wasn't paying any attention to her surroundings when the door opened. She was so submerged in her book that she didn't even realise they were there, until her older brother snatched her book away and led her in through the threshold.
"You have got to stop reading." He commented, giving back the book.
"You've got to start having a life." Emily retorted.
James shrugged and stuck his tongue out immaturely. For a sixteen year old, he could pass for her six year old cousin any time.
Their parents were already inside the house when they came and they were settling in, admiring the furniture and the food.
Then her Uncle Paul noticed them and walked over. "Emily! James! Thought we lost you!"
A brown haired woman turned around at that, beaming at them. Her eyes flashed with kindness when she came running at them in a blue whirlwind of fabric and engulfed them in a hug.
James laughed from inside her arms. "Hi aunt Sally."
"Hello sweethearts. Or you two are so beautiful. I heard a lot about you, you know."
Emily immediately liked her. She was not at all like she had expected. Carefree and happy. Quite unlike her own mother who was stricter about her education and much colder towards people she had never met before. She wondered if Sally had any children of her own.
"We heard loads about you too." Emily said.
Sally smiled at them. They all sat down as a family and started talking, getting accustomed to the house and their ways.
"So Sally." Emily's father started. "I heard that you have a son?"
Sally smiled genuinely. Her eyes lit up at the merest mention. "Oh yes. Percy. He about as old as James."
James's and Emily's heads shot up at the piece of news.
Maybe they won't be as alone as they would've thought.
"Really?" Her mother feigned surprise, though you could tell that she thought Sally very unfit to be a proper mother. She was scrutinising her as if making sure she was good enough for her brother Paul. "Which school does he go to?"
"Goode high school." Paul answered. "The one I teach at."
Emily's mother smiled thinly and nodded. She had obviously expected a much more advanced school.
"Does he have any plans for the future?" She asked.
Sally and Paul shared a look. "Probably wants to be a marine biologist or something like that." The brown haired woman answered, like it was a little inside joke.
Emily's mother looked like she was going to interrogate the couple some more on studying but her father changed the subject. "He goes to a summer camp right?"
"Yeah, he just came back yesterday." Paul answered.
For a single moment, a flash of sadness passed by Sally's eyes but then she masked it with a smile.
"Well, were is he now?" Emily's mother asked, feigning politeness.
Sally opened her mouth to answer but she was cut off by some voices at the front door and a key scraping at the doorknob.
"Percy-" a girls voice said.
"Wait, I got it-"
"No, Percy-"
"Why isn't it opening?"
"Seaweed Brain, you're using your car key."
"Oh." There was a jingle of metal and the door opened. "Here we go. See, I am smart. Your mom just doesn't see that."
The girl laughed and walked inside. She took off her shoes and left them at the door. She had long blonde hair and was wearing an orange shirt and shorts over which she wore a thin grey jacket.
A boy walked in after her. His black hair was ruffled up and he was wearing the same orange shirt the girl had on and pale shorts that came down over his knees.
"Mom!" He shouted. "We're home!" After sighting Sally, he walked over and kissed her on the cheek lovingly.
"Hello, Percy. Annabeth, sweetie!" Sally stood up. Annabeth came by and gave her a big hug too. When they pulled away, Sally took Annabeth's hand in hers and examined her fingers. Emily saw a silver band glitter in the light.
She looked up at the girl's smiling grey eyes and gave her a big hug. Annabeth's mouth dropped open. "You knew." She accused Sally. She turned to Paul in surprise. He just shrugged.
"Oh you three are so-" Annabeth exclaimed.
"Amazing." Percy intervened.
"That was-"
"Completely right, Seaweed Brain." Percy joked. Annabeth punched him in the shoulder.
Sally laughed. "Well, you two. This is Paul's family." Annabeth and Percy looked as if they had only just noticed four other people in the room.
"Sarah and Jack." Sally continued. Emily's mother threw them a thin smile and eyed the ring on Annabeth's finger disapprovingly. Her father however, grinned at them widely.
"Emily and James." James smirked at them. He was so much like their father, it was unnerving. Emily smiled at them too, wondering who the girl was to the Jackson-Blofis family.
"Nice to meet you." Annabeth said, smiling brightly.
"So your staying the weekend here right? For Christmas?" Percy asked. He looked a little worried when their father answered 'yes' to his question but it disappeared like a flash.
Emily had read enough books to know that this family was definitely hiding secrets. Big secrets.
"How about," Sally suggested to the four children. "You four get to know each other. Percy, show them to your your room."
He looked at the James and Emily, beckoned them over with his head, took Annabeth's hand in his and dragged her off after him.
The two siblings followed them amusedly.
* * *
Least to say, they were not what Emily had been expecting. Turns out, Annabeth loved books and Percy got along just fine with James.
Very soon, James was trying to pass over his current obsession over Minecraft onto Percy, who, to his surprise, had no idea what the game was about.
Ten minutes later Percy was complaining about exploding creepers.
Finally Annabeth ripped it out of his hands. "Let me see this."
"Bet you won't be able to be as good as me." Percy said immaturely, sticking his tongue out at her.
Solid minutes later, Annabeth showed him what she had been building.
It was a house large enough to be a mansion.
"Whoa." Percy muttered. "That's even better than Rachel's 'house'."
"Wicked." James muttered, proving Emily's point further of him being a six year old.
The sun, flowing in through the open window of the room, caught the ring on Annabeth's finger.
"Are you guys engaged?" Emily blurted out.
James looked at her as if to say, "Really sis?"
Percy gaped at her, blushing a little bit. Annabeth blinked, her face very much red.
"Uh- I - I was just wondering cause of-" She gestured at the ring.
"Oh." Annabeth laughed a little. "No. It's just a promise ring."
"Aw, that's cute."
Percy blushed even more and scratched the back of his neck.
"How long have you guys being together now?"
James rolled his eyes at her.
Annabeth laughed at her antics. "Yesterday was our one year anniversary."
"Yeah, the camp got a little bit over excited." Percy said smirking. "They dumped us in the canoe lake again."
"Again?" James asked.
Percy laughed."Again. They tend to that a lot."
"Do you guys love each other?" Emily asked, feeling giggly.
Percy looked at Annabeth. "Wise Girl, I think she's a child of Aphrodite."
Emily burst out laughing but James just gave them a confused expression.
Sally chose this moment to enter the room. "Dinners ready sweet hearts."
"Awesome." Percy said, jumping to his feet. Probably eager to get away from Emily's interrogation. Emily followed with a huge smile with Annabeth and James.
When they arrived at the dinning table, her parents were already seated. Paul and Sally were just taking a seat. Annabeth and Percy obviously sat next to each other and James and Emily sat beside their new friends.
Emily's mother smiled thinly at Percy and Annabeth. It was of a great contrast to Sally who smiled at them with easy happiness.
"So," Emily's mother started. "Are you two siblings?" She directed the question to Percy and Annabeth who were trying not to laugh. James and Emily however choked into heir food and had to drink some of the water to hide their laughs.
"Uh no, mom." James said. "They're dating."
"Yeah. They've been together for like, an year now." Emily provided.
"Oh." Mrs Blofis said, feigning a smile. "Do you have any plans for your future?"
"Oh yeah." Annabeth said excitedly. "I'm hoping to study architecture and be an architect. I've already got a job designing O- uh, this place but-"
"Annabeth." Percy said. "Whoa, calm down."
"No, that is really good. She has her future all planned out." Mrs Blofis said, looking pointedly at Emily.
She turned her piercing attention to Percy. "What about you?"
Percy shrugged. "I dunno. Probably study surfing or skateboarding."
The dining table burst into laughter but Mrs Blofis only curled her lips up in an unpleasant smile, making her look a little like Professor Snape's long lost sister or something.
"Surfing? Or skateboarding? Well I suggest that you take a leaf out of this young lady's book then."
Emily almost rolled her eyes. Here they were, guests at this house and her mother was scrutinising and criticising their hosts.
But Percy and Annabeth seemed unaffected. Annabeth shoved Percy's shoulder and joked, "Yeah seaweed brain. It's time for you to start studying architecture."
"Me? Study architecture? I can't even build a wooden five by five house in minecraft!"
Annabeth laughed. "Then maybe you can join some kind of the fire department and put out fires."
Percy grinned at her goofily. "I think I'll be better at that."
Sally and Paul laughed like it was some kind of an inside joke.
Mrs Blofis had moved on. She was now eying something on Percy's forearm. "What is that?" She demanded.
Annabeth stifled another laugh. Percy looked like he was a deer caught in headlights. "Nothing." He said. "Just a- a tattoo." That probably didn't help much.
A series of reactions passed around the table. James leaned over curiously, a big smirk on his face. Sally choked into her food. Even Paul looked up. Emily's mother's eyes darkened like a storm but her dad just kept eating blissfully.
Annabeth rolled her eyes and muttered something like idiot.
"Perseus Jackson-" Sally started.
"No! Mum! It's just- from uh... You know." Percy stammered. "And it's just that." He showed her the tattoo. There was a trident with the letters SPQR and one line under it.
"It looks like it was burnt into your skin." James winced.
"It was." Percy muttered. "Trust me I didn't really get a choice."
Sally relaxed but a Mrs Blofis was outraged. "Sally! Are you really going to let this pass! He's got a tattoo of a skull on his forearm."
Emily frowned. "Mum, it's not a skull. It's-" she looked at Percy. "What does SPQR even mean?"
"Senatus-" Percy started but Annabeth kicked him under the table.
"It means Seaweed Brain Poses as Queen Potato." Annabeth blurted out. Then she frowned over her words.
Percy gave her a weird look. He pressed a hand against her forehead. "Wise Girl, are you okay? Do yo had a fever or something?"
Annabeth pushed him away, "Shut up."
"SPQR?" Mrs Blofis questioned exasperatedly. "It's a skull for gods sake."
Annabeth muttered something into her food. Something that sounded vaguely like mortals.
Mrs Blofis caught the eye of something else. "And I suppose you two are already married?"
Percy spluttered out the water he had been drinking. Sally started laughing. "Don't worry Sarah, it's just a promise ring."
"Hmph." Emily's mother scoffed. "Well-"
"So!" Mr Blofis, Emily's father cut in. "Tell me more about this camp of yours."
Percy swallowed his food. "It's awesome. Seriously, there are rock climbing walls that sprout out lava."
Annabeth kicked him under the table again.
James choked into his food. "Lava! Ha. Ha. Very funny Percy."
The rest of the dinner went along quite smoothly. When they finished the dinner, Percy, Annabeth, Emily and James fell onto the sofas in the lounge.
"You guys wanna watch a movie?" Percy asked, picking up a pile of CDs.
"Ooh." Emily sat up. "Which ones do you have?"
"I vote for a documentary about-" Annabeth started but Percy cut her off. "Wise Girl, I love you. Seriously. But we are not watching a documentary."
She glared at him.
Emily flicked through the pile of movies. "You have Tangled? Awesome! Can we watch it?"
(A/N. Sorry guys! I just watched it with my friend at school and I just remembered how much I love it. If you don't like it, well, sucks to be you XP)
James and Annabeth groaned.
"I've never even seen it." Percy said.
"You haven't?!" Emily gasped. "We are so watching this then."
Pretty soon, they were sitting on the sofa, laughing their heads off. Annabeth eventually go bored and cuddled up to Percy's side.
"Hey, Wise Girl,"
"Hm?"
"You're sort of like Rapunzel. I can be Yu Gene or whatever his name is and Blackjack can be Maximus."
Annabeth punched his arm. "I do not frolic around like-"
"No, but if I give you a frying pan..."
"I'd knock you upside the head with it."
"Exactly." Percy replied with a laugh.
When the lanterns scene came up, Percy leaned over and kissed Annabeth.
"Percy!" Annabeth pushed him away, complaining about his sappiness but she was laughing.
James gagged. Emily resisted the urge of bursting like a party popper because of the overload of cuteness radiating from both the movie and this adorable couple.
They had time to watch another movie: Hercules (throughout which Annabeth and Percy were complaining profoundly) before their parents made them go to sleep.
Emily quickly got dressed into the pyjamas she had brought and brushed her teeth. When her father had said that they were staying over for the weekend, Emily- at first, had been very surprised and discouraged by the fact that it would be even more boring. Now however, she was really exited.
She made her way to the guest room Sally- Aunt Sally -had showed her. James was already there. So was Annabeth and Percy.
They stayed up chatting for another while, until at last Annabeth fell asleep on Percy's shoulder. He said goodnight, picked up his girlfriend bridal style and left the room.
Emily drifted off to sleep, knowing that this was going to be an awesome weekend.

Should I make a part two for this? Or is it too boring?
