Annabeth x Reader (I can't feel my legs)

Your fighting a monster and break your back <3 Inspired by @ypsese, they made the idea in one of their books, I'm just writing it how I would have. Most likely will be quite long, might take two parts (probably not though).

Warnings: Swearing (I think that's it. Comment on this if there's more)

Y/N's POV

You were fighting a monster with Annabeth, Percy and Grover, the cyclopes Polyphemus. You were attempting to rescue the Golden Fleece. You were covered in blood and bruises, and Grover, Annabeth and Percy suffered the same fate. You had almost procured the Fleece, but you couldn't grab it. Polyphemus was in the way. Every attempt you made to get around him failed. Percy tried to come to your aid, but Polyphemus just flung him away into a tree, and he crumpled to the ground.

"PERCY!" You yelled, sprinting towards him and forgetting the Fleece. You skidded to a stop next to him. But he was breathing thank gods. You yelled for Annabeth and she could take it from there.

You started running for the Golden Fleece again, dodging around Polyphemus's absolutely enormous toes, and picked up the Fleece.

"Finally! Haha!" You yelled in joy. "Annabeth! Grover! I got the-" You were cut off my Polyphemus looming above you. He looked down, grinned, and raised his foot.

"Oh shit," you mumbled. Polyphemus smashed his heel into your back, and a loud CRACK resonated around the field.

A guttural scream ripped through your body. The pain was unbearable. Imagine you stubbed your toe, but it's your back, and 1,000,000 times worse. Then it was all black.

Annabeth's POV (First Person)

As I heard the crack I knew something bad had happened. I whipped my head around, and discovered Y/N's limp body under Polyphemus's foot.

"NOT Y/N YOU BITCH!" (😏) I screamed as I ran towards him. I felt more angry than I ever have in my life. More angry than when Luke betrayed Camp Half-Blood, and more angry than when Clarisse got chosen to lead the quest. I whipped out my dagger and leaped onto Polyphemus's back. I hung on for dear life, digging my blade between his shoulder bones. He roared in pain and fury, trying to shake me off his back, but I clung tight.

"This is for Percy!" I yelled as I stabbed him again.

"This is for Y/N!" I slashed his back.

"AND THIS IS FOR ME!" I lunged up his spine, embedding my dagger into his skull. He roared louder than the first time, trying to get me off. I twisted the blade, finishing him off. He stumbled around, then flopped to the ground, most likely squishing a few of his precious sheepies. I leaped off his back, and smirked. Then remembered Y/N.

"GROVER! GO LOOK AFTER PERCY!" I yelled at the satyr, sprinting to where Y/N lay, motionless near Polyphemus's foot.

"No, no, no, please be okay," I mumbled, as I reached her. There was blood seeping from her cuts, and the honestly didn't look too bad. But that was nothing compared to her back. It was way curvier than it should, and somehow kind of stuck in the floor. I flipped her over gently, and saw just how pale and deathly-looking she was. Her breathing was shallow and uneven, but it was there. Her eyes fluttered open, and she stared at me blankly.

"Anna...beth..." She breathed.

"Yeah?" I whispered.

"I... can't... feel my legs..." She went limp once more. Then it dawned on me. She obviously broke her back, but it was worse than that. Her legs were paralyzed.

"GROVER!" I bellowed.

"What? What is it? Is Y/N okay???" Grover stumbled over his words, dragging a wobbly Percy behind him. I shook my head solemnly.

"Her back is broken, and I think she's been paralyzed from the waist down," I uttered with difficulty.

"Oh, shitake mushrooms," Grover said under his breath. (I like to think that Grover would swear in plant talk XD) "We have to get her to the Apollo kids."

"Duh, and we might actually need Apollo." I said. I picked up Y/N, and carried her to the boat we had. (Just go along with it). I placed her gently in one of the beds, and draped the Golden Fleece over her back.

"Please, just, stay alive," I muttered. I sat down, and watched her for the trip.

Y/N's POV (Second Person)

Darkness was all you could see.

Swirls of black and flashing coloured lights.

Then small voices emerged.

One by one, they got louder.

You could hear a boy and a girl arguing. Over what, you didn't know.

"Y/N, Y/N can you hear me? Oh shut up Will. Y/N?" The girl said. You recognised her as Annabeth, your best friend.

"Her heart rate is jumping," someone informed her. You assumed it was the boy, Will, Annabeth mentioned.

Soft hands cupped your chin, and they opened your mouth slightly. A warm liquid was poured in. It tasted like fresh f/f.

Slowly, very slowly, you opened your eyes. You discovered that an extremely worried Annabeth was leaning over you, grey eyes staring into your e/c ones.

"H... hey," you breathed.

"Oh my gods, you're awake," Annabeth whispered, tears dripping down her cheeks. "I haven't seen your eyes in a week."

"A... a week?" You asked incredulously.

"Yeah. We recovered the Golden Fleece a week ago. It's okay, camp's safe," Annabeth said with joy. She laughed, more tears sliding down her face. She lifted you more into a sitting position. You thanked her, looking around. You stared at the boy, confused.

"Oh, hi, I'm Will Solace. Sorry, I forgot you didn't know me. I'm a son of Apollo, and best healer at camp," he said proudly. "I would shake your hand, but you shouldn't be moving much right now."

"Yeah... Nice to meet you Will. I'm Y/N, but I'm sure you know that already," you laughed. Then, you stopped. "What happened to me?"

Annabeth shifted her feet uncomfortably. "Well, you kinda... sorta... broke your back."

"I WHAT?" You screeched.

"You broke your back. Polyphemus stepped on it. We rushed you straight here, but it didn't really help," she said guiltily.

"What's wrong, what didn't help?" You asked frantically.

"Y/N, there's no easy way to say this. You've been paralyzed from the waist down. You can no longer use your legs. You'll be refined to a wheelchair for the rest of your life," Will said bluntly. "I'm so sorry, there's nothing we can do."

"BUT! I think there's something I can do," a new voice said from the door. You diverted your gaze to reveal a young man, leaning against the infirmary door frame.

"Dad? What are you doing here?" Will asked in surprise, eyes widening.

"I'm helping out a young, crippled Demigod of course! I heard little Y/N here broke her back and can't walk. That's no way to live!" Apollo exclaimed, throwing out his arms. "I, however, being the kind, nurturing God that I am, have come to heal her! I am the God of medicine after all. All it takes in one of my medicines and wham, bam, you'll be good to go, ma'am!"

"You... would do that... for me?" You asked in disbelief and awe. You didn't think the gods were all that kind to the demigods, especially not theirs.

"Why of course! You're such a nice young lady. You deserve a fabulous life." he pulled a bright yellow potion out of one of his pockets. "Drink this, and you'll be good as new." He handed you the vial.

You gulped it down immediately, and felt a tingly sensation up your legs and back.

"Woah... I think it worked!" You said excitedly.

"Of course it did! I made it!" Apollo laughed. "Wait... I feel a poem coming on! Aha, here it is.

'I am a good god. Healing this young girl's poor back. Oh how great I am'

That was a good one!"

You laughed along with him, leaping out of bed and hugging Annabeth. You then high-fived Apollo. You were on top of the world.

Ahhh! That was fun to write. I'm so sorry it took ages to update, but here I am! I had such writer's block 💀💀💀. Hope you enjoyed!
