Katie had a great morning. She was awake for two hours and she hadn't been pranked by a Stoll twin. Her sister Miranda sat down next to her at the Demeter table and said "You seem to be in a good mood today. Let me guess, you haven't been pranked yet?"

Katie grinned and was about to answer her when a bucket of cold water splashed on her head.
"I knew it was too good to be true"

When she turned around she saw a flash of familiar brown hair and she ran in the same direction.
"Stolls, I'll get you for this!"

She saw Leo Valdez taking a picture of me drenched, and snatched the camera right out of his hands and deleted the picture.

It was Katie's turn to monitor the strawberry fields, so she sat down after she went around the fields and to her surprise, Miranda was on time for her shift. She never was.

"What are you doing here? It's still 11:30."

"Hey! I can be on time for once you know"

Katie smirked "I didn't"

Miranda stuck her tongue out at her sister, who just rolled her eyes back.
Katie ran her fingers through her hair and groaned when she realised that it was still a little damp.

"You have to get him back with something real good"

"Him? How do you know it's only one of them"

"Kates, Travis is the only one who pranks you anymore. Connor got over pranking you ages ago"

"Then why can't Travis get over it too."

"Katie, do you know why little boys pull little girls' pigtails on the playground?" She took a pause and said "Because they like the girls and don't know how else to get their attention"

"Miranda! Did you seriously just quote Brooklyn Nine-Nine?"

"Hey! First off yes, you know I'm obsessed with the show and Second, don't stray away from the topic."

"What are you talking about?" Katie scoffed

"Travis likes you! Whether you accept to believe or not, it's the truth. It's so obvious. I mean the way he fixes his gaze on you, when you walk into a room. Are you oblivious to the fact that he flirts with you? And I'm pretty sure you flirt back"

"N- I mean yes- Wait what?"

Just when Miranda was about to answer her, the conversation was interrupted by a very familiar voice
"Hey there Katie-kat!"

"Speak of the devil" Katie murmured under her breath

"You were talking about me?" Travis asked with a boyish grin on his face.

"Shut up Stoll!" Katie felt her cheeks flush

"Were you talking about how handsome I am? Or how good I am at pranking you? Or- "

He stopped and turned around when he heard Will Solace calling him.

"Okay! Nice talking to ya Katie-kat, Miranda" he winked at Katie

"Ugh! See, this is why I don't and will never like him. He can't even wait long enough to finish a sentence before he commits to something else.
All he cares about is pranks and doesn't give a care in the world about real life."

Miranda was looking at her with a weird face and was making hand gestures. Katie didn't get it until she heard a gulp from behind her and saw Travis who stood there looking into her eyes with a look of betrayal.

"Trav I- "

"Save it" he said walking away.

Miranda was flabbergasted. She didn't say a word and walked away into the fields.

Katie knew exactly where Travis would be. She ran to the lake and saw him sitting again the tree, holding his knees and his face buried in his hands

Katie sat down next to him and wrapped an arm around him, pulling him closer to her. He looked up at her, eyes dark blue and rimmed with tears. She felt a tear slip down her cheek too.

"I'm sorry Trav. I'm really sorry!"

"How could you Katie?"

"I know. I should'nt have. I really shouldn't have."

They sat in silence for a while until Travis started talking.

"I'm really that bad huh? Am I that bad, that you could ever even consider liking me?"

"Trav- "

"No Kates. I need an answer. What's so horrible about me?"

"Travis. I'm not apalled by you. I'm not at all scared of liking you. Honestly its impossible to not like you. You're funny, smart, caring, loving and I will admit that you're good looking. It's not liking you that I'm scared of. I'm scared that I've fallen for you. I'm scared that I've fallen for my friend. And I'm scared that if you know that I've fallen for you, then it'll be the end of our friendship."

"You know Katie?, you're right. It might be the end of our friendship."

"I-I-I'm sorry. I know I should'nt have said anything." Katie looked the ground and felt hot tears pricking at the corner of her eyes.

He lifted her head by her chin and wiped the tears off of her face and said "Katie-kat, let me finish. It'll be the start of our relationship."

And then he saw her smile. The one that made him fall in love with her in the first place.

"So what do you say?"

She nodded.

"Yeah? So are we girlfriend and boyfriend now?" He asked hopefully with his fingers crossed.

"Yes idiot!" She said before placing her lips on his. He smiled and sighed into her mouth.

"I love you Katie-kat"

"I love you too Trav"
