Nico grinned deviously, a plan forming in his mind.

He was currently trying to prank Leo back after the whole water thing with Percy at the mortal school. 

Right now, his plan involved shadow travelling into the Hephaestus cabin at midnight and pretend like he was Leo's worst nightmare (which he should be).

"Where do you think you're going so late, sunshine?" A voice sounded at the entrance of the Hades cabin. Nico nearly jumped out of his skin.

"Gods, Will!" He yelped quietly. "Stop sneaking up on me like that!"

"Sorry, but good thing I did or else I wouldn't have caught you preparing to shadow travel." Will shrugged. 

"What're you doing in the Hades cabin at midnight anyways, significant annoyance?"

Will blushed. "Um, sometimes I check on you at night. Make sure you're safe. And yeah."

Nico wasn't sure if he should be annoyed, scared, or touched.

"Anyways, I'm gonna prank Leo. Be right back." He said, vanishing in the shadows. He reappeared in a dark room. A bed was in the corner, and on it lay a sleeping form. Nico lowered his voice, then approached the figure  with his shoulders wide and threatening. 

Before he could say anything, the figure twitched, spotted him, then screamed.

Nico paused, confused. That didn't sound like Leo's scream. And this didn't look like the Hephaestus cabin.

The figure switched on the light. Nope, it wasn't Leo. It was a girl with caramel colored hair streaked with red dye. Her blue eyes were tinged with fear and surprise. Her hand reached for a staff laying on the table.

"Who are you and what are you doing in my room?" She demanded. Her voice had a faint British accent.

"I- where am I?" Nico asked.

"Answer my question first, bloke!" The girl snarled. "Or else I will ha-di you to the next-"

"Okay, okay, chill!" Nico said, holding up his hands. "I'm Nico di Angelo. Now, where am I exactly?"

"Well, you're in Brooklyn. The Brooklyn House. But how did you get in here? Are you a magician?" The girl said. "I don't know you... but you look familiar. I'm Sadie."

"Brooklyn??" Nico exclaimed, then mentally slapped himself. "I messed up with shadow travelling again! I thought I had it under control!"

"Shadow what?"  Sadie asked.

"Never mind. And what do you mean by 'magician?'" Nico asked. 

"Oh! I know why you look familiar!" Sadie suddenly said, completely ignoring Nico's question. "You look like my boyfriend- er, one of my boyfriends. It's complicated, don't ask. But are you Anubis's little brother?"

Nico just stared at her. "Who?"

"Anubis, the Egyptian death god?" 

"Wait, did you say god?"

"Yeah, why?"

"You're dating a god?"

"Yep."

"I-" Nico didn't know what to say. Sadie must've been pretty popular with the Egyptian gods if she was dating one of them.

"Bloke, you look almost exactly like Anubis." She said, narrowing her eyes suspiciously. "Are you sure you're not his little brother? Quit playing games."

"Positive! That would mean I'm an Egyptian god too, right? But I'm not!"

"You could be Wepwawet. He's Anubis's brother."

"Wepwa-who? I'm not with the Egyptian gods, I'm with the Greeks. Son of Hades."

Sadie stared at him, brows furrowing. "Oh. And why are you in my room, again?"

"Shadow travel mistake."

"You're weird."

"Gee, thanks."
