The doorbell rang loudly through Nico's dark house. It was October 31, 1937 in Italy, Nico di Angelo's home.
"Vado io mamma!" Nico yelled.
(Translation: I'll get it mama!)

Little, eight year old Nico (idk how old he is by this point so he's eight okay?) sprang up and ran to the door. He had cat whiskers drawn on his face, and cat ears placed upon his head. A small, silky tail whisked out from behind him, trailing across the floor. He grabbed the bowl full of Italian candy and opened the door.

"Dulcetto o scherzetto!" Nico gasped in shock at the girl at his door.
(Translation: Trick or treat!)

The girl was dressed up as an angel. Soft, feathery wings spread across her back, and a small halo hung above her head. Her hair was dark and a little longer than shoulder length, and she had a wide smile with a few teeth missing.

"Ciao! Avere qualche caramella!" Little Nico exclaimed.
(Translation: Hello! Have some candy!)
"Grazi! Come ti chiami?" The girl asked.
(Translation: Thank you! What is your name?)
"naturalmente. e Nico Di Angelo è il mio nome. e tu?" Nico responded cheerfully.
(Translation: Of course. and Nico di Angelo is my name. What about you?)
"Il mio nome è Reyna," Reyna responded.
(Translation: my name is Reyna)
"Piacere di conoscerti. ci vediamo in giro un giorno?"
(Translation: Nice to meet you. See you around someday?)
"Sì. ciao nico," Reyna replied before flouncing away.
(Translation: Yes. Goodbye, Nico.)
Nico watched her leave, forlornness settling in his heart. He never forgot Reyna, the girl who stole his heart first.
