Thaluke (Thalia + Luke)
The Hunters were visiting Camp Half-Blood. Lady Artemis thought they could have a small vacation and camp. At the moment, all the other hunters were busy with various activities but Thalia stood alone to the side of her pine. The dragon slept peacefully at her feet as she overlooked the green expanse of the valley. She stretched out an arm to the bark of the tree, remembering she had once been inside of it. Other memories flooded her mind. Three our people but one in particular: Luke Castellan.
"Oh Luke. Asshole. Why did you let him use your body? If he hadn't, you wouldn't be dead. You'd be here. And I wouldn't miss you so much you bastard."
She remembered having a crush on him when they were traveling together. He was always so brave and so fun. And he cared about her. She could rely on him and he'd be there. But then Kronos got to him. He ruined him. Thalia was grateful the Titan was gone. She hoped he was gone forever. She never wanted to deal with him. He'd taken her friend from him. When she found out, she was so disappointed. So angry that Luke had let him in. She was crushed. She joined the Hunters knowing it would be easy to keep her vow of maidenhood with Luke gone. She would never find anyone else like him anyway and he was gone. Their happy memories together were over. But of course she still missed him. She missed him so much.
"I sacrificed myself so you could live. So you could take care of Annabeth and have a full life." Tears rolled down her cheeks. "But that didn't get to happen. You're dead. And I have no idea when I'll ever seen you again."
She let her arm fall to her side and cried. She'd never let herself mourn his death. Not when she was supposed to be strong, leading the Hunters by Lady Artemis's side. And she never had a moment alone. But she had it now and she would mourn.
Thalia didn't know how long she stood there crying. When the dragon shifted and nudged her with his head, her tears finally died down and she pet his head.
She took a deep breath. She needed to get going before anybody noticed and came looking for her. She looked one last time across the valley, "I loved you, Luke."
Then she turned away and made her way back to her living family.
