Percabeth (Percy + Annabeth)

It was Annabeth's birthday in a little bit, July 12, and Percy Jackson had a great night planned but she thought he'd forgotten, again. But not this time. And hopefully she would like it. It was a simple night but not horrible. At midnight, it would be her official birthday. She'd be 18. That's when he would get her and they'd have a hopefully awesome night. For now, he lay in bed in his cabin at camp and couldn't fall asleep because of the anticipation.

At last, after like a bazillion hours of waiting, he saw his bedside clock switch to 12:00 am. Percy flung the blankets away and grabbed his clothes. He dressed in dark skinny jeans, new Converse, black button up shirt and a grayish blue blazer. He couldn't comb his hair but he ran his hands through it, trying to get it to stay down. He grabbed the long satin box wrapped in a stormy gray ribbon and ran put the door. Quietly. Not really. It was a surprise the harpies hadn't heard him. Then he remembered the flowers he'd gotten for Annabeth from the bottom of the ocean. He rushed back inside his cabin and grabbed them from the salty fountain. Thank the gods he didn't have to worry about getting wet.

He walked quietly to the Athena cabin and knocked on the window next to Annabeth's bed. "Psst! Annabeth!"

No reply came and he tried again a little louder but careful not to go overboard, (pun intended) "Hey, psst! Annabeth, wake up!"

The lock on the window jiggled then clicked and he hid his gift behind his back as the window slid open. "Percy? What are you doing here? Its the middle of the night, go back to bed!" She didn't seem to notice how he was dressed.

He smirked and said, "Not yet. And happy birthday Wise Girl. Get dressed."

In her sleepy daze, she smirked too, "You remembered."

Percy rolled his eyes, "Of course I remembered."

She closed the window and hr made his way around to the door. She promptly came out in a summer dress Percy didn't know she owned, and in simple sandals. Her hair was down around her shoulders that reminded Percy of the first time he saw her and he thought she was a princess because of those gorgeous bouncy blonde curls. He definitely still thought she looked like a princess. Even better.

"Well?" She asked, raising a blonde eyebrow.

"Uh right." Percy held out the flowers as he sneaked the satin case in his pocket. "The flowers are for you."

"Flowers?"

"I didn't forget." He repeated.

Annabeth took them and smiled, kissing his cheek as she did so. She had to go on her tip toes to do so.

Percy smiled back and took her free hand in his. "Lets go for a walk." Annabeth pressed closer to him and layer her head on his shoulder. "You look amazing by the way, Wise Girl."

Annabeth rolled her eyes but smiled either way. She knew that no matter what other girls thought about their boyfriends, she had won the jackpot. Percy was more than she'd ever hoped for. And finally after the war with Gaea, they'd have some peace and be able to be together without top many worries. Never again to be separated.

They walked on for a while and made it to the beach. Annabeth didn't even wonder to where Percy was taking her, as long as she was with him nothing else mattered. They both slipped off their shoes and held them in their other hands. Annabeth balanced the shoes with the flowers. There was no way she'd let go of his hand. But she managed and they walked in comfortable silence under the bright Long Island stars and the silver moon. The moises of monsters and animals coming from the woods. But it didn't bother them.

But she had to know something about it, "Are we only taking a walk?"

Percy kept walking and smiled, "Birthday picnic on the beach will be in sight soon."

Just as he said, there was a red blanket on the sand with two plates and a picnic set out. But it wasn't empty of people either. Laying there, tangled up on each other, were Travis and Katie.

Percy stopped mid step, "What are you two doing here?"

They sprang up and blushed. Travis was looking incredibly guilty. "Sorry Percy," Travis apologized, "It was alone so I thought I'd bring Ka--"

Katie realized what he was saying and anger exploded on her face, "You jerk, Travis! I thought you said you planned this for us!"

"When I asked you out I didn't actually expect you would say yes!"

She stormed off yelling, "It was probably another prank! I can't believe I fell for it! Sorry Percy, I swear I had no idea!"

Travis ran after her, "Katie wait! I swear I..." their voices faded of in the distance. Percy and Annabeth looked at each other.

Annabeth spoke first, "They are so meant for each other."

Percy laughed, "Yeah," then gestured to the blanket, "Shall we?"

She nodded and they sat down to eat. Percy had packed spaghetti and salad, reminding her of their romantic dinner in Paris. Even though they'd ate other food. When they finished they shared a chocolate cupcake and sat against each other with Annabeth's head placed on Percy's chest and his back reckoned against a boulder. They watched the ocean waves lap at the shore for a while until Percy took out the satin box. He held it out to Annabeth.

"For you, Wise Girl." He was nervous. He hoped she liked it.

Annabeth opened the box Annabeth opened the box and took out its contents, holding it up to let the moon shine on it. It was a charm bracelet made of Imperial Gold and there were five charms on it: Annabeth's initials in cursive, Percy's initials in cursive, the Eiphel Tower for their best anniversary, a volcano to symbolize Mt. Saint Helens where they had their first kiss and an owl and a horse intertwined together with a heart in the middle that held the infinity sign to top it off.

Annabeth gasped with shining eyes. It was wonderful. "Its a amazing, I love it Percy, thank you."

Percy let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, "Really?"

"Yes, really. For sure," she held out her wrist and the bracelet, "Put it on for me?"

He wound it around her wrist and clasped it together. Two hands were the clasps making it so when it was clasped, it looked as if it were holding hands. It was about Tartarus. Never again.

Annabeth noticed it and her eyes turned misty, "Tartarus."

Percy nodded.

He had asked Leo to make it after apologizing for the millionth time about yelling at him when they first met and after the war and before he left in search of Calypso. He'd only left a month ago. It'd taken him a while to set everything up. But Percy had saved a small scrap of Imperial Gold when he'd come back from Alaska with Hazel and Frank. That's when he'd gotten the idea.

Annabeth looked up at him, "I love you Percy. I'm never taking it off."

And so she kissed him. Of course Percy kissed back.

Eventually they fell asleep and that was where one of the Aphrodite campers found them the next morning and woke them with her fan girl squeals.
